"EVERYTHING you can dream of all in ONE!"
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
For the classic sound and the hard rock sound i will always turn to the HSS.
Sound
great overall sound, although the output volume isn't as loud as my other guitars. But the sound itself is stellar along with the S1 switch, all types of music is possible to play. ONly drawback is the tex-mex pickups...i always wonder how different the american strat. pickups would sound
Features
The guitar is supposed to come with a case and the case is loaded with a nice strap and other useful hardware. But the case isn't the easiest thing to open... u can tell it was made in mexico.
Ease of Use
The different sounds are great with the S1 switch. All the combinations along with tweaking your amp a little can really sound amazing.
Quality
Quality is good... haven't had any problems. Sienna sunburstlooks great. the finish is perfect and the guitar is pleasing to the eye.
Value
For the S1 switch... great price... much cheaper than a les paul

"Great Sound! Great Looks! Great Value! What are you waiting for? Go buy one for yourself."
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
I sold two of my Standard American Strats when I bought this guitar. I still have an excellent quality American Tele, and I don't expect to buy any new guitars in my lifetime.
Sound
Fender Tex Mex single coils are a bit different from the Fender standard single coils I have become used to over the past 38 years, but provide excellent clarity with a little bite.
Features
The S1 Switching definitely makes this instrument more versatile than any other Fender model. If you prefer the dirtier tone or a lot of distortion, you will not notice much difference when switching the humbuckler, but if you play with moderate volume, tone, and distortion, you will love this feature.
Quality
The one I own is of the highest quality. Great finish, and the neck is spectacular. The fret edges are smooth as silk, and the neck finish is unsurpassed. I've been playing Fender instruments exclusively for the past 38 years, and this is the finest quality instrument I have ever played.
Value
The Fender American HSS Strat with S1 switching is the best electric guitar value on the market.
Manufacturer Support
I haven't needed any help with this particular guitar. Fender support is not always great, but from what I hear from owners of other makes of guitars, Fender is way above average.
The Wow Factor
Mine is Butterscotch Transparent with Black Pickguard and Black Pickups with a Maple fretboard. I have shown this guitar to many of my musician friends and they are all impressed with its great looks.

"American Strat with some punch"
Very versatile, plays my wide area of music very handily, fills in great where I would need two or three guitars before.
Sound
The humbucker is great for the harder rock styles, especcially for those people who also want the classic strat sound. It is not top of the line but sounds pretty good.
Features
The s-1 switch makes this extremely versatile, and with it you can use the inner coil of the humbucker in combination with the other single coils to get the strat sound, and you can even get all pickups at once. The floating tremelo is also a great feature, and is a staple of the amstrat.
Quality
Great quality, the finish is still intact, the hardware is excellent. the machine heads are great.
Value
I got this when fender was running their 100$ rebate deal, so it was more like a ten in value to me.
Manufacturer Support
haven't needed them.
The Wow Factor
It is very appealing, and mine looks great in the black finish and white pickguard. It's an american strat, that speaks for itself.
Musical Style:
Hard rock, metal, classic rock, blues, r and b, whatever.
