I cant speak enough about this bass. The balance of the body, the tone shaping on the 4 band EQ. The stock flowing action that allows me to move seamlessly across the fretboard. The sleek design. I am SO glad I purchased this bass. It can do absolutely anything from being behind the mix for an R&B track or right in front with some added mids and highs for a nice rock stone or Marcus Miller slap tone. EVERY bass player should have at least one Fender Jazz in their arsenal.

I happen to own a Ken Smith, a Musicman, and they are great basses, when my Minister of Music heard this Jazz Bass it stood out immediately. Everyone talks about the deep fatness of the sound, and it's beauty. For me, it's playability is second to one. I will be getting a 4 string soon.

I have a ton of basses and one more is never enough. This particular bass is my favorite bass in my collection not only because of all the bells and whistles it has but because it sounds fantastic. The quality is unmatched. Another great thing about this bass is the way it feels. When you first look at it, it seems to be a bit intimidating but I was surprised at how comfortable the instrument feels when you play it. The neck flattens into a D shape as you get to the higher frets. The pups are amazingly quiet. The electronics are top notch. I highly recommend the Fender American Jazz Elite V. Buy American Fenders if you can afford it. It is worth it at the end.

This bass is hands down the best bass I've ever owned. Every part of it is fantastic. It plays and sounds like a dream right out of the box, and the experience is amazing, all the way down to the case it comes in and the included accessories which really add to the value of the instrument. Great pickups and fantastic preamp as well, and the natural finish is absolutely stunning to see in person. Ever since I got this bass, I've had people approach me to say that they loved how it looked. I have never been happier with a musical instrument. I very highly recommend this bass.

Musical Background:

I've played for around 10 years. I mainly play bass, but also guitar and mandolin.

Musical Style:

I play a variety of styles, but mainly rock, some metal, and jazz.

Bought this bass recently and absolutely love it. Have always been partial to Music Man basses, especially those with the 18v preamp. However, it's tough to beat the tone of a jazz bass... Now, I have the best of both worlds. The active electronics on this bass are great, and it has a ton of headroom. The upside is it can also be run passive. Either way gives that classic jazz bass tone. It is a little heavier than my Music Man basses and after 3 sets my back can tell the difference, but the sound is worth it. This is my new "go to" bass guitar.

"A Serious Instrument"

This bass is fantastic!! High quality, plays and sounds incredible. The neck feels great, easy to play. The thud of this bass is unbelievable, will rattle your bones. I've had many basses, Ken Smith, MTD, Sage, Modulus, Roscoe, F bass, Zon and others. This bass can go one on one with any of those basses, no problem. In fact when it comes to heart pounding low end, the Fender beats them all. The electronics are top notch, the mid sweep is extra special, produces many usable tones. I would highly recommend this bass. A serious player definitely needs one of these in their arsenal.
