I received this bass two days ago. I installed a set of Steve Harris signature flat wounds on it and played it for the first time last night. This bass is amazing. The Custom Shop 60 pick ups are clean and allow you to cut through the mix with ease. The neck is very comfortable and plays very easy even though its a tad thicker than what I have been playing. Fit and finish on this bass is immaculate. Buy one! American Standard P-bass is a great way to go!

Once again I am amazed how simple it was to order my 2012 Precision STD one day and be playing it 2 days later. ZZsounds gave me a no hassle 8 payment plan that no one can match, and I have been playing and buying equipment for 45 years. Needless to say this Fender Bass is amazing right out of the box. The resonance and tone is true to Fender USA form and only required my preference adjustments. I am a professional player and my experience was exceptional.

I got this baby in December of last year and it is simply the best playing and sounding bass that I have owned in 39 years of playing. The finished like glass and it comes in an awesome hard plastic case.

"Fender nearly hit this one out of the park"

Fender did many things right in this overhaul of the classic P bass, but a few niggling details left me cold. 1. The neck and neck pocket are not machined for each other. They seem as if they were designed for different pieces of wood. My Sadowsky has a spot-on fit between neck and pocket, and I would think Fender could do the same. 2. Adjusting the truss rod require loosening the neck screws to move the end of the neck up and get the wrench in the tiny hole. Ok, this was fine in the 50s but umm, what year is this again??? Otherwise the tone is to die for and the playability is awesome (once you get it set up to your liking, which can be a painful back and forth process). If they could fix these two things I'd gladly give it a million stars.
