Having owned a 2004 American Deluxe ash, and a 2011 American standard, I can honestly say the quality of this MN is right up there. Aside from the lack of hand rolled fingerboard edges, and the plastic truss plug instead of ash, this is the equal to my prior Stratocasters in every way. Great guitar for the money. I especially enjoy the classic style tuning pegs, very nice touch. Having been an SSS Strat player I am impressed with the HSS setup, being able to split the coil on the HB is a nice feature as well, This little thing is a versatile instrument that should serve me well for years to come. Highly recommended.

Be prepared to get a fret dressing job if you buy one, mine was pretty much unplayable when I got it. It was worth it to me to spend the extra on it because you’d have to get a USA Elite to get the the same features this guitar has. I’m happy with it, just want others to be aware and factor in the added cost. Haven’t used Fender’s Support so I can’t speak on it.

Quality feels top notch and in many ways feels like a USA. She is heavy, as some Stratocasters can be. The locking tuners take a bit to get use too. The 12 radius '22 fret' neck feels real nice, but still 'just barley' remind me -its a MIM. The 12 neck radius does take some getting use too (Ibanezy) but you can bend notes all day on it. Electronics feel pro quality. Bridge and tuners metal seems good. No cheap feel to anything. Here is the deal and I lie not -If you don't adjust the pickups on this guitar you may not like the sound. But when they are right, you will feel like you have your fender again. Tip: add about (at least) 1mm to both the neck, and middle bass side ..and treble side pups, past the recommended fender settings for noiseless singles. I can get a good Clapton, Mayer, SRV and much more from them. Its a Blues Guitar , yes its warmer but its also got those big piano like notes to it! Only complaint I have is: The bridge pickup, in full humbucker mode, is like twice as loud as any other combination, and I cant help but question 'what was Fender thinking' on that one? My solution was to balance the bridge pups for split and tap mode and I am now happy with it. Note: bridge humbucker in full mode is warmest sound of all combinations. Its been a few months now and I love playing it!

CONS- Mine needed a setup out of the box. The strings rattled on the frets, the nut had to be refiled on the low E string, truss rod completely loose, and no matter what anyone says.... it is a pearl pink. there is no silver or gray to it. PROS- The pickups do sound good. The humbucker is a bit louder than the other pickups.
