i picked one of these up in the placid blue from local pawn shop for $300 ( they didn't know what they had and luckily they don't sell on reverb) but it looks brand new all i did was add some flats and you can get the sound out pf two of the most popular fender basses and have a short quick playing neck and the maple neck is gorgeous

"Do Not Buy- Didn't Last 2 Years"

I'm the owner of a half dozen Fender guitars and basses, from a late 60s Jaguar to a 2015 Tele. All work just fine. Then I bought this "special release" Mustang bass. Two years later the volume pot quit. I alerted Fender who's first question was whether it was our of warranty, which is a year. So they refused to fix it. A month later, the damned tone pot also died. I contacted Fender again, specifically Nathan Jones, Senior Gear Advisor. This time he didn't even have enough integrity to reply. So do I fix it again? Or wait for more stuff to break? Or cut my losses and sell the damned thing, then NEVER buy another Fender, EVER?I cannot and DO NOT recommend this instrument to any bassist who actually plays bass. This is NOT a player's instrument.
