I was browsing the site, looking at several different telecasters... the looks of this guitar really caught my eye.A lot of people might be deterred by the idea of paying this much for a Mexican tele, but i thought the value was there. The neck and body are both finished in nitrocellulose, the body had has some cool finish checking but none of the nicks, dings or dents found on other road worn guitars. It looks like one that was played and loved, but still well cared for.I really dig the look of the worn chrome pickguard, and worn hardware. You get a rosewood fretboard, a lot of the recent Fender guitars are using Pau Ferro. You also get locking tuners and a deluxe Fender Hard shell case, a value right there.I'm not a huge Pretenders fan, i know the hits, that's about it. I didn't buy it because of Chrissie or The Pretenders...I bought it because it's an awesome Telecaster at a fair price in my opinion. It looks and sounds great!

I didn't buy it because of Chrissie or The Pretenders...I bought it because it's a killer Telecaster at a fair price in my opinion. It looks and sounds great!
Features
The 6 adjustable saddles are really nice for better intonation, although I've got no issues with the 3 barrel saddles found on most Telecaster.
Ease of Use
The instrument sounds like you'd expect a telecaster to sound.
Quality
I found no issues with the fit and finish, a fine looking guitar.
Value
I's say for all that you get, the guitar is priced fair.
Manufacturer Support
I've never had to contact fender regarding this or any previous purchase.
The Wow Factor
This would be a great instrument for the Chrissie Hynde or Pretenders fan, but even if you aren't.... it's a solid, fine instrument. A great Telecaster in my opinion.

The chrome pickguard was very grubby, with goo and fingerprints, and it took a lot of effort to clean up. The body was covered in fine dust and fabric threads caught in the bridge barrels. Removing the three stickers on the neck plate was difficult to peel off and remove the tough adhesive. The neck is perfect; there is nothing distressed about it. My problem is that the open D string buzzes. I don't understand why or what to do about it. Mexico was once the premier guitar builder and part of the reason why this one was purchased.
