"The new generation of QUALITY and SOUND!"
This guitar sounds like a brand new guitar every time i pick it up, and if I had to buy it again, I definatly would.
Sound
This guitar has the perfect sound if your looking for a bluesy or classic rock/rock sound. If you want metal or a hard crunch, put in a symour duncun Hot Rail in the bridge or anywhere else. Or even a Dimarzio Fast track 2. But for what you get it's amazing!. I've had the stock pickups for a while then put in Hot rails and now it sounds like a hybrid between Fender and Gibson!
Features
It's a strat, your going to get a lot. 5 way pickup selector which gives you a lot. Also, with strats you can get more than just 5 ways to use the pickups, i've expiremented and you can put the pickup selector i between any 2 postitions! For example, you can put the pickup selector i between 1&2, 2&3, 3&4, and 4&5! pretty cool which just gives you more features!
Ease of Use
Well, as I explained, you can get any sounds from this by setting it to your specifications like changing pickups and using then wisley. Also, you dont even need the whammy bar to get the whammy bar sound. Just push or pull on the tremolo and you will get it without accidently "Dive-Boming" it and putting it out of tune.
Quality
ugh. you know what to expect from an American made Fender. The hand rolled edges just doubles the icing on the cake. I like how the neck and head is just one piece. Makes it a lot more sturdier compared to some Gibsons.
Value
Great guitar, sounds like top of the line stuff. So if It was 1200 or 1300 bucks, I'd still buy it.
The Wow Factor
When you look at it in person it is just a preety piece of artwork. The head is clearcoted which makes it "Glisten" in the light. I got the olympic white so I could be like Jeff Beck and John Frusciente and it looks just amazing. Thats not the only reason i got that color, To me thats just the best color that goes with a rosewood fretboard.

"Awesome New Strat"
I am just a hobbyist guitar player, but this thing does inspire you to do more. There are many many times that I pick it up for "just a minute for a few runs" and before I know it, 2-3 hours have passed. It's that much fun to play! I will never be on a stage playing to pay my bills, but this is one guitar that I will keep forever
Sound
Classic Fender strat sound. At times the p/ups are just a little too hot but easily controlled. Sounds are great overdriven tube amp.
Features
I bought this new from a retailer. Comes with super nice case and all the candy inside (strap, cable, wrench, keys etc...). This one is the Blizzard Pearl with a maple neck. Simply gorgeous. A piece of art.
Ease of Use
Super easy to use and the new electronics are really nice. The frets are great, really easy to bend and vibrato seems a little easier.
Quality
I've heard good and bad about other people and thier experiences with the "new re-designed" strat. I suppose it varies on a case by case basis. The one I purchased was flawless and perfect in every way. I have seen a few on display at a few places and noticed that the neck did not sit in the pocket very well.
Value
I bought just before Fender implimented the "across the board" price increases, but it would not have mattered. I would have paid more for it anyway.
Manufacturer Support
I have not needed it yet so I'll start at the top and go down from there.
The Wow Factor
I originally pick out an Olympic White with a maple neck. Took it home for a few days trying to decide (the shop I deal with will loan me one for a test drive). For some reason I decided on the Blizzard Pearl, probably because it has such a beautiful finish. The light picks up the flake in the paint and looks like a pile of snow in the sun. I will go back to get the Olympic White with rosewood neck also.

Keep it up Zzounds! Very satisfied with my dealings with this company and will continue to give you my business. You treat people right and that goes a long way in my book.
On the other hand, Fender could use a little wake up call with the USA quality control, but overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase.
Sound
It's a Strat.... you know what you're geting with it if you've been around awhile. I'm an LP freak but I love a good Strat when I'm in the mood for it. I normally put a set of Custom Shop 69's in my newer Strats because I love the sound, but these p/u's in this particular Strat sound amazing... I think I may just keep this one stock. Can't exactly put my finger on it, but they sound overwound and jusy a bit off tolerance compared to a couple of my other Strat stock p/u's. Overall, very satisfied as is.
Features
Again, it's a Strat so nothing fancy here... straight ahead Fender. The p/u's were a surprise, but you just read about that.
Ease of Use
Very easy on teh fingers after a complete set up tomy tastes... got it dialed after I corrected the set up. This was a blemished piece (more on that in the Quality section) from zzounds and I'm completely satisfied.
Quality
OK... this one takes a hit. I had a great experience from zzounds "blemished" pieces, so when I saw this Strat in the Blowout section, plus the $100 rebate, I couldn't pass up on a new USA Strat for several hun off the normal great price zzounds offers. I'm an LP fanatic, but love a good Strat every now and then. I opened the case and it looked all good. You could tell this was a return though... case contents looked a bit disheveled, but that's OK. First thing I do is take a quick look at the set up. The strings had been lowered way too low and the saddle positions looked off a bit. Sure enough, a couple of bends on E and B around frets 15-21 got snuffed. No problem... raised the strings a bit to my normal height (keep in mind, this is all normal set up routine everyone should learn how to do with their guitars). Still got snuffed up high. Upon closer inspection, I notice the 22nd fret was about .5mm from sitting flush on the fingerboard. Wow... how did that pass inspection at the factory??? A couple careful taps to seat the fret, and we're in business. Changed the strings, set saddle spacing & intonation and I've got a great Strat. I'm almost certain that's why it was returned. But hey, your loss, my gain. Took me all of 30 minutes to find, fix, and set up. Shame on Fender for letting this one pass thru inspection like that.
Value
Zzounds blemished pieces rock. I bought an LP Traditional this way and beyond the small issue with this Strat, it's been a great value. Highly recommended.
Manufacturer Support
never had to deal with Fender support, but I would have a bug to put in their ear about final inspections...
The Wow Factor
2nd place behind the Les Paul. A Strat is a sexy beast and definitely a must have in your stable.

The Fender Stratocaster is as American as Chevrolet, baseball, and Apple Pie. Jimi Hendrix preferred the standard American Strat to any other guitar. Crisp tone, eminently customizable, and always recognizable by it's sweeping curves, rich colors, and simply beautiful finish. Fender is a company once hugely popular that slipped in popularity through a lack of attention to quality and care when it changed hands. Well, hands have changed again, and there is a new focus on bringing the pride back where it belongs- in an American Classic; The Fender Stratocaster.

"Simply put, Once you go American, You'll Never go back!!!!"
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
This is a keeper and no-one, I repeat, no-one, will be touching this. It's my baby!
Sound
Mine is the 2006, 60th Anniversary Commemorative model that has the 57/62 pickups. This guitar has the classic Fender Vintage tone and was made for ripping out the blues IMO. The delta tone system is just great. After playing a MIM Standard for the last 4 years, this is a big difference both in tone and playability. I'm using this with my Fender Frontman 65 Combo and a Zoom John 5 effects processor and the combination of everything, just sounds awesome.
Features
I bought mine off a friend who had bought it brand new, in 2006 and had never played it, intending to keep it only as a collector's piece. Mine came with a Silver colored HSC and all the case candy along with the 60th anniversary logo embroidered on the inside of the case. The guitar has a nice 3 tone Sunburst finish, Fender's 57/62 pickups, rolled fingerboard edges, 22 frets,Delta tone system. This is the guitar that I've been waiting my whole life for, and nothing else that I ever played, compares to this.
Ease of Use
The neck on this , is a bit wider then my MIM, but thinner. It only took me a few minutes to adjust to it and once I did, I couldn't put it down. I am having a blast with this guitar, and playing it is a breeze.
Quality
When I got it, all I had to do, was a string change and a slight setup in order to accomodate my personal settings. Once I took care of that, she was ready to go.I was going to swap out the locking tuners from my MIM, and put them on this one, but the stock tuners, stay in tune quite well, so why mess with a good thing? Nothing like having a USA made Strat as far as I'm concerned.
Value
Considering what I paid for it, I definately got one hell of a deal.
Manufacturer Support
Fender's support has always been tops with me.
The Wow Factor
It's a USA made Strat, how could you not want it?

"Everyone should own a Strat."
This guitar was one of the best investments I have ever made. I would totally buy this now for the new list price now that I realize it's quality. Everyone should have a strat in their guitar arsenal, why not have an american standard?
Sound
It's a strat, you know how they sound. Awesome single coil tone for blues, jazz, rock. I run this through a Full-Drive 2 and either a Peavey Classic or Roland MicroCube(both bought from Zzounds) and the tones I can get just sound great. I personally love to play blues and classic rock, Hendrix and SRV and that whole style which Strats accomplish the best.
Features
Just an American standard, no special bells or whistles. Just choice wood, great pickups and electronics, all a traditional guitar player need. Apparently these new strats have a thinner finish which helps the guitar resonate more.
Ease of Use
Neck & bridge pickup tone knobs and a volume knob as well as your standard 5 way pickup selector. Just tune her up and maybe adjust the bridge tension for the whammy.
Quality
I will never buy another cheap import guitar for myself ever again. Once you have a guitar with good electronics and hardware that won't fall apart in 4 months, you will never go back. The craftsmanship of these guitars is very professional, you will not be let down.
Value
I was lucky enough to snag one of these guitars 2 years ago when zzounds did a Fender sale. I have absolutely no regrets with my purchase. I got a sienna sunburst finish for around $850. This was when the american standards were around $1200 regularly. I feel the value of a guitar is in the happiness it brings you the owner and player.
Manufacturer Support
ZZounds have always been very reliable. I have never had to deal with them in any negative way.
The Wow Factor
Mine has the sienna sunburst finish. I originally wanted to try and get one with a brown sunburst but got sienna instead. It looks great and I never really see a lot of strat players with the sienna finish so I am very content with it.
