All in all, for the price, this is the ultimate telecaster, with no flaws, perfect quality and plays like a dream. Fender has done the right thing by offering up the vintage series and this one is a keeper

Ive been playing and singing since I was 8 years old. I always wanted the guitar that made Johnny Cash unique. 48 years and a million songs later it arrived last week. Ive done Johnny Cash, hooked it up to a vintage MXR phase shifter and Waylon is alive and well in my little studio. Sometimes you have to wait, and with a little help from zZounds pay as you play dreams can come true. Great Authentic sound. Intonation spot on out of the box. If you ever wanted that authentic way back tele sound, this is it. Dont wait. Get you one!!Did I mention my old hands(big too) love the vintage neck? Playing is a breeze. My poor acoustics have felt left out this past week...

This is the best sounding telecaster model in fenders line-up today, except maybe for custom shop models. The pickups are amazing - they are loaded with tele personality and sound wonderful played clean. Here's the best part: overdrive the amp a little and the pickups get very rude and touch sensitive. The sound is to die for. The downside is, I have brought three of these home from various outlets and ALL had serious issues with the nut being cut poorly. All had the nut cut too shallow so that toes lower on the neck and open chords sounded out of tune no matter what. One had the nut slots off center such that the low E string would easily roll off the neck edge. Another had the pickguard screws very crookedly mounted and off center from the holes in the pickguard. Really simple errors. But on a $1999 guitar it's not a happy thing.

I love this guitar, everything about it.The case and all the case candy are really cool too.Don't listen to those people who tell you that a squire vintage vibe is close, there is nothing close about it,the pickups, neck, frets, bridge, saddles, and nut are very high quality American components not to mention the one piece ash body with nitro finish.

It is a very nice guitar but, we compared a vibe 50s squire and it was dam close. The Squire uses a 1lb heavier guitar but the pine has a more resonant sound. I throw on some Schaller strap locks and locking tuner, with a Graphtech nut and for $600 have a guitar at least as good if not better. Save the $1,400 unless the made in U.S.A is a must and you have the bucks to blow.
