It is the most comfortable guitar that I have ever played. The roasted maple neck is unreal and plays like nothing else that I've tried. I was afraid that it would sound too Van Halen and be a one trick pony, it is not and is very versatile. I've played everything from Boston to Ozzy on this thing and it's good at it all. Also adding to the comfort is a belly cut which the special doesn't have and no neck dive at all. It is a player's guitar.

these standard wg guitars are imo, more worth the money than the specials. The specials are minimum 500 more. There is not 500 in upgrade imo. Anyway, I allready had the exotic model for 6mo. Set up a special for someone and then decided to get another standard. SS parts on the floyd special and no other upgrades needed. The tones you can get from this guitar are unlimited. Any style or genre. By far, the best stock pickups you can get. DO NOT HESITATE, if you are thinking of getting a wg standard. just do it!! Northern lights finish is beautiful as well.

I mainly bought this because my first fender 1986 startocaster had system one locking tremolo and i thought i could split the coils for more tones you cant only two wires but beeing that i prefer single coil pickups these PAF pickups sound great do yourself a big favor and put in a brass trem block it makes this guitar even better its loud even when it isnt plugged in with the fat brass block and cleaner too I use the kneck pickup mosly it gives a clean fat tone .I still love stratocasters but this is a great guitar for the money only problem I had after 8 months i had a few frets come up a bit but easy fix eddie knew good sound and i play very little van halen with this its a great blues guitar and rock

Had this guitar for 1 yr. In less than 1 yr, i had 6 set ups done. Every single time waited 2 weeks. Started playing and the guitar sill go out of tune. The tensions, the floyd rose, the picks up were bad...must of gotten a lemon. Was a pretty guitar but thats it. Also if u dont get locking strap locks the strap will come lose. Over got rid of it i preferred a stratocaster american player
