I have 33 years of experience playing guitar, ukulele, bass, and piano. I have purchased 20+ guitars in my lifetime. This guitar has been the worst one I have ever setup. BY A LANDSLIDE. honestly I just want my strings back. First, there were SEVERAL deeper micro scratches all over the body upon unboxing, (the tag around the volume knob is the main culprit.) The headstock point has a dent upon arrival. This can’t have been a new instrument NO WAY. There are three deep gouges in the neck material where the Luthier slipped with the file. The nut isn’t even cut at all.. the strings are literally just laid across a plastic feeling wedge. Now for the worst parts… this instrument WILL NOT tune, the bottom string constantly pulls the tuning machine even after tightening the tuning machine it still slips. And THE WORST pickup I have EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE! That truly is no exaggeration. Extremely microphonic and cheap. There is no way ANYBODY will keep this pickup in the guitar. I have a Leo Jaymz from China I got on Amazon for $245 and it is 10x better quality than this huge disappointment. The Leo came with epoxied pickups why can’t this guitar??I’m sorry to say this was my first purchase from zZounds. It’s extremely disappointing and I’m more than likely going to have to return this. It’s more microphonic than my little brothers “first act” guitar toy. I expected much more quality for the price point. Should have kept the schecter PT in the cart absolutely. If I keep this guitar it’s going to cost me at least another $500 to make it playable. Most beginners will NEVER be able to set this up. You will need to be experienced and have luthier tools to complete.
