I purchased this guitar about a week ago in the purple burst finish, Guitar came shipped very well protected so that's a plus. The finish on this guitar is great for the price point, pickups also are decent enough as well can go from clean all the way to face melting metal! Definitely a potential mod platform

I wanted to take time to own and play this guitar before I wrote a review.The good- it has split coils so you can have single coil use, or humbuckers. If definitely is a good looking guitar and gets a lot of compliments, the Jumbo frets make it easy to play, has good tone.Now the bad- the fret ends could cut, they have cut me a few times now, mine came labeled as NEW, but definitely was a demo guitar, Had a chip and it was covered in swirl marks. It creeks like a old stair depending on how you play it, or how you pick it up.Overall, if you need a guitar in this price range there are better choices, but if you like this one for what it is, it’s not a bad guitar, just be ready to work on it. LTD ESP needs to do better quality control.

I will preface this by saying that I'm not a huge fan of ESP guitars, but I have had some good experiences with their instruments. I owned a KH-602 for a while and it was one of the best guitars I ever owned. That was not the case here.I will start with the good. The aesthetics are cool. From a distance this guitar has a great look. The neck profile was great and the tuning stability was good. The "finish" does look cool and it impressed a girl I liked at the time that liked the color purple.The only real functional problem - as in, something about this exact model that is not good - is the pickup set. These pickups read really high on a bench, but the wire is very poorly secured. The sounds from these pickups are just awful. Muddy, difficult or impossible to clean up, and they don't seem to react with the pots at all; they are either off at volumes 1-3, or max volume at 4+. Tone knobs are basically just for show.Beyond that, the issues I have are with QC and value. As far as QC, the neck pocket on mine was not cut properly to fit the neck, and the neck was noticeably misaligned as a result. The electronics cavity was a disgusting mess of wires and solder. It seriously looked like a bird nest of wires. The selector switch did not work in several positions, and the input jack thread was stripped and would loosen often. As far as value, for $399 - no pack-in items, no gig bag, a screen-printed graphic rather than a real finish, and plastic non-locking tuning machines.All in all, this guitar borders on a child's toy. The QC issues should be addressed, but the features and specs would be more acceptable to me if this guitar was at least $100 less than it is. At this price and level of QC, this guitar is a horrendous value, and I cannot responsibly recommend it to anyone. If you are on a budget and want an ESP LTD instrument, then I suggest going up a few dollars for a 256 model, or getting a 1000 model used.
