I really like this guitar. I only wish I would have bought it sooner. I can't believe it's not a 1000 model. Surprisingly comfortable and balanced. Pickups are fine. Coil tap is nice. If you are interested in this don't wait for it to go up in price buy it now.

This guitar is so special to me i want to be buried with it!!! I swapped out the pickups for EMGs, and put on Gotoh tuners and a graptech nut. This thing will eat a Gibson explorer for lunch!!! I am in love with the tone it makes. The feel is right up there with any guitar over 1k in price!!!! I love the fretboard its so dark and smooth. This guitar just spoke to me right out of the box. This thing is a Metal machine ya'll!!!! It can be your dream guitar just like it is for me!!! Please dont think just buy it from zZounds today!!!!!!

I can honestly say I am impressed by the quality and sound of the EX-200 for its price. While its not the cheapest guitar in the world, for its price you cant go wrong. I was very surprised by the weight. While the guitar is fairly large (Being an explorer style guitar) it weights much less than my other non explorer guitars. The only down side to this is that it has pretty horrible neck dive, but this can be overcome. Sound wise it is fantastic. While this was definitely made to be played with over drive or distortion, it sounds good clean as well. My only complaint would be that I wish it came with Locking tuners and a Tusq nut. My Schecters came with the Tusq nut standard on it for a similar price if not a little less, and they also weight more. All in all this is a great guitar whether you're a beginner or not.

I was looking for something different that my superstrat body styles without a tremolo. And found one of these on FB marketplace. I was so stunned by its playing, its smooth and has an aggressive tone that I love.I was thinking before I bought it I would have to buy new pick ups, even bought a SD black winter for it and I'm not gonna put it in because it sounds fine for the metal I play. Its pretty light for a guitar this size which I like even though I dont play live anymore. To be fair tone is a bit thin but I play lots of thrash metal and can add bass and turn down the treble :P.The 300$ I paid its a steal, not sure I would Pay 600$ New but it is worth it.

Playing 30 + yrs and still suck!

Aggressive simplistic groove metal.

Out of the box this thing was already playable. The action was nice and everything. I did change out the string to an 11 Gage because I play in drop C. All in all the pick ups are good in it already. Probably will change them out later but not in a rush. If you're looking for a good metal guitar, look no further then the ex-200

First off, I want to say this guitar is a good choice if you're not too picky on tone and don't mind having to replace a part or 2 down the road. It's heavy, built solid as heck, frets are big, and the neck has great playability. That being said, I do have several critiques on this particular model: Firstly, the 3-way switch on my unit was very shoddy. I would lose almost all volume and tone when switching between neck and bridge pickups, as well as using the coil split. I bought mine brand new, and it would take a few repeated clicks back and fourth to get full output.Secondly, the pickups leave much to be desired. Some of the other LTD EX models have EMG pickups, but this one has 2 "ESP designed LH-150 humbuckers" that lack and sort of true punch or real clarity when it comes to any sort of distortion or overdrive. When used clean, it sounds okay, but I'd imagine you're probably not picking up this guitar for clean tones. Neck position sounds a bit muddy, and the bridge position is tinny and devoid of any attack. They have almost no sustain from what I've experienced. I ended up switching mine out with a pair of Black Winters & that's what made me hang onto this guitar, as it now performs the way I believe it should. All in all, its a good guitar, but I think the price is a bit steep for the work I've had to put into it (a full setup, swapping out the 3way switch, and swapping out a pair of pickups ran me $450 in total). This is a $500 guitar at best, but it's a fine choice if you dont mind paying more.
