I absolutely adore this pedal. It's the kind of thing where you didn't even know you were missing it, but once you have it you don't know how you lived without it. I've purchased a few eq pedals, a 10 band mxr and the boss 7 band. I liked the ability to fine tune my tone, but I hated how time consuming it was to adjust the sliders to just the right tone. The Tone Job is just as versatile as the Slifer eq's if not more so and it's much more intuitive and quick eq changes are now a breeze. I use it at 18v and I recommend anyone who buys one try it, it increases the dB of boost and also increases the headroom. This is an always on pedal that sits at the end of my chain of drive and fuzz pedals. I use it to fine tune my drive pedals, add back some bass on a TS, or dial it back on a big muff. The clean channel on my Orange Rocker amp hasn't got an eq or a master volume. It was made to give you pure power amp distortion, so it simply has a volume knob and that's it. This was the ultimate test for the Tone Job, and the number one intended purpose I purchased it for. To use it as a preamp/eq of sorts. I set the amp to a slight crunch and then I can effect the amount of crunch by adjusting the volume boost on the pedal. I must say that the eq works as well as any on board amp eq, maybe better. I don't miss an eq for the clean channel now, because I have a very fine one. You can boost or reduce basically any frequencies you like once you get the hang of how the knobs interact. It's based on a baxandal eq which is one of the best guitar amp eq's of all time. The knobs interact allowing you to boost any frequency you'd like, combining the bass and mids gives you a low mid boost with the treble at noon or lower and so on. The sheer amount of clean volume boost here is mind blowing too at 18v. It stays clean longer than even a Super Hard On, more headroom than any other boost I've had, and tons of output that's comparable to any other boost as well. My clean boost and eq are now off my board and in a drawer, this does both and better than the 2 dedicated units.
