James Hetfield and Metallica inspired me over 30 years ago to want to play guitar. When I saw that Ernie Ball had released a signature set designed by James himself, my interest was sparked. So I ordered them from zZounds of course.I installed the strings on my Schecter Demon 6 with the tune-o-matic bridge...had to adjust the truss rod to support the 11-50 gauges. Whether I tune in standard E, Eb, or down to C# these sound and feel fantastic. With high-gain distortion they produce the level of heaviness you want in order to get that Metallica sound, plus crisp and clear clean as well.I would recommend these to anyone who plays metal, whether in the vein of Metallica or much heavier bands. Ernie Ball always deliver and these Papa Het's Hardwired Master Core strings exceeded my expectations. I hope they will be available for years to come. Not to mention you get an awesome collector's tin box as well. Get them... you won't regret it!
