I "hope to be buried w/it"!!!!!! I would buy another if it was "nicked" or damaged severely !!!
Sound
I have an Epiphone Lucille, which is basically an ES-355 w/o F- holes, and also has the Varitone selector. I am a Bigsby fan, and the addition of the B-700 unit, is " a welcome addition" to the ES-345's versatility. Finish is impeccable, sound is great !!!!!!!!! I love it !!!!!!!
Features
The combination of the Varitone switch and the Bigsby vibrato are what I like the best. the Epiphone Alnico '57 humbuckers are great sounding, also. the Cherry stain finish shows up the " historically correct" mahogany neck, which most import 355 family guitars do not utilize.
Ease of Use
I like the no.2 and 4,5 settings on the Varitone the best. If you have a "Y" jumper cable, you can get cool sounds in conjunction w/ two amplifiers, and some delay/chorus mixed in.
Quality
The guitar is finished impeccably !!!!!!!!
Value
It is well worth the price, I bought an Epiphone E519 case which compares favorably to the Gibson case I have w/ my Lucille ( with the dust cover). from ww.zzounds.com, earlier in Dec. The ES-345 fits it like a glove!!!! The " pay as you play" plan is great !!!!
Manufacturer Support
I own various Epiphones, have never needed to contact Customer service, My oldest one ( a 1995 Hummingbird) sounds warmer due to the aging/opening up of the solid spruce top.
The Wow Factor
The ES-345 is, I think important in the early stages of the "growing up" of popular music back in the late '50's/early '60s. It's sister's, the ES-335 and ES-355 are more known, and it is Epiphone's credit that they continue to offer limited editions of Gibson's guitars from that "classic" era. Sound and versatility of the ES-345 is a plus, also for most kinds of music,, also.

I have wanted an ES-345 ever since Marty McFly rocked one out at the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance, but there is no way I am ever going to spend $4,000 on a guitar. Epiphone has totally come through for me. This guitar is not only beautiful (I have the cherry with the black pick guard mounted), but it also sounds wonderful. In fact, the mono output jack on my mine was defective, but, it sounded so good, I decided to keep it and just spend the $4 to upgrade the jack to a switchcraft anyway. No need to change out the pickups on this Epi. These Alinco V pups sound great. They can go from warm and jazzy to hot and rowdy with a simple twist of the volume and tone. And if you want even more versatility, the varitone really does make a difference. When you couple that with the ability to play through two different amps at the same time (stereo outputs), the tonal options are just endless.Yes the gold is cheap and thin and I'm sure it will be worn out within a few months, but that will just add to the look of the guitar. Yes the Bigsby is a cheaper "licensed by" version, but it really does work well (or you can just flip it back in place and out of the way).If you are thinking about buying this guitar at all, just do it. You will not regret it.

This is a gorgeous guitar! It looks, feels, and sounds the part of an actual Gibson 345. My only complaint about the guitar is the quality of the detail work. The f-holes were crudely cut out leaving jagged, splitting edges around the inside. The paint around the f-holes was also poorly applied. It was very thick in some areas and no existent in others. I have an Epiphone 335 made in the Korean factories and it level of detail is top notch. May just be that the quality control at the China factories is not as tight as they were in Korea. I was also not crazy about the pickguard. I have never been crazy about Epiphone's pickguards, so i replaced it with a Gibson 345 pickguard. But overall I love this guitar. Looked great out of the box and after setting it up to my tastes you can bet your sweet bippy that The first thing i did was crank out some Johnny B. Goode.
