I have been a Gibson player for the last 25 years, but now I am happy to call myself an Epiphone player as well. I have two Les Paul Studios which I love, but I wanted another LP with a high-end finish; however, not at the ridiculous price of a Gibson AAA Maple top model. The Epiphone Les Paul Tribute Prizm Plus came and I was astonished at how good looked. Out of the box it played really well, but I only gave it 4.5 stars in the ease of use because the intonation was a little off and the action was little high (but so were all my Gibsons). The Gibson 57s are lower gain but they sound so good and the Grover Locking tuners (my first time having them) are really solid. The Slim Taper D neck profile is different than the 50’s rounded that I play, but I have grown to love it. I actually think it feels better than the Gibson 60s Slim Taper, which I do not like (IMHO). As for the one bad review here, it doesn't sound like that person got the right product. This guitar, even as one of the highest priced Epiphone LPs, is a tremendous value and truly turns heads sonically and visually! Finally I would like to say that this was my first zZounds.com purchase and the experience was great!

"A 1960 Les Paul true to the original from Gibson."

Out of the box a very beautiful and sleek looking instrument. I've always wanted a 1960 edition of the venerable Gibson Les Paul but never had the budget to support that. Now I have as close as I could possibly get without having to pay the price. Set up was near perfect for me out of the box. The finish and appointments without flaws. The Gibson USA '57 PAF's can go from sweet low and mellow to a hard bite with the turn of the knobs. My style of music is primarily Delta & American Blues standards by BB KIng; Albert King and McKinley Morganfield. I push this through a Bugera V22 all tube head on top of 4 12 inch celestians. Beautiful. (Bugera is another Zzounds acquisition). The only trouble I've had is the nut at the G string staying in tune. Research shows this is a small problem which is inherent with the Gibson headstock angle on most of their guitars. A small spot of graphite and problem solved. Try it; you'll like it. I love mine.

Musical Background:

I've been playing various stringed instruments primarily guitar for a little over 50 years.

If you like the look and haven’t seen this guitar in person you will not be disappointed. It’s a bit pricey for an Epiphone. I personally don’t have a problem with Epiphone guitars and own many. I also own a variety of other more expensive guitars including Gibson. The look and the 57 pickups are the main reason for my purchase of this guitar. It plays very well and sounds fantastic. I really can’t flaw it.

Musical Background:

30 years playing. Jam at home and record some.

Musical Style:

Mainly a heavy blues.

This was my First time buying an Epiphone, I currently own a Gibson Les Paul Studio. I ordered this guitar because of how it looks(on the pictures) and 57' pickups. My first impression: case looks great, that is the best thing about this guitar. The paint-job doesn't even look the same as the pictues, here or on any other website I research about this guitar before buying. NO Grover locking tuners, just regular Grover tuners. One end of the neck pickup was totally out of place pressing the strings(never seen anything like that before) I thought: maybe I can fix it with just a screw driver, nope, there were some missing parts inside, remember we are talking about a new guitar. Of course I called asking a refund for this monstrosity of a guitar. I'm not buying another Chinese guitar online ever again!...
