10/10 would buy again
Sound
I was surprised at how well this guitar sounded with the combination of the tone woods and the pickups it can go from jazzy sparkly clean to ultra brutal death metal
Features
I was impressed that it had an ebony fingerboard which in my opinion is the best feeling and sounding. The emg pickups are really high output and have surprisingly great tones especially for metal and drop tunings but i found if you put the pickup switch in the middle position and roll back the volume on your amp you can get a good clean tone
Ease of Use
This guitar came setup with really low action right out the factory which was a blessing which makes it very easy to do bends and the neck while not being to thin isn't too thick either which i believe is a good thing,
Quality
I was actually surprised at the quality and playability of this guitar i think it plays and feels better than the newer Gibsons i tried out at guitarcenter which everyone has their own opinion i don't really like the richlite fretboards sound or feel and the idea of cutting wood out of the body when Gibson claimed for years you have to have a solid piece of wood is hypocritical
Value
This guitar is worth a lot more than its current selling price but don't tell epiphone that.
Manufacturer Support
i haven't had to contact Epiphone with this product but i did have to with their thunderhorse model explorer and they were very helpful and nice about dealing with me.
The Wow Factor
i rate this guitar 10/10 would play

"So much bang for the buck!"

I have been playing for over 40 years and have been kind of a guitar snob. Never thought I would buy a guitar not made in America. I own A 1997 Gibson Ace Frehley, pre Fender Jackson King V, Gibson LP Standard, SG, Fender American Standard and deluxe strats, PRS custom 24 and so on. I first saw this guitar advertised and thought, this thing looks bad@ss. Looked at the specs and couldn't believe an Ebony board with all the other things this guitar comes with for the money. Figured for the price I couldn't go wrong. I was right. The MKH LP plays great! I really love it and with Zzounds play as you pay it's so affordable!
Sound
First off this is my first EMG equipped guitar all others have factory pups, Duncans or Dimarzios in the Ace. So first thing I wanted to check out was how the emgs cleaned up. I was pretty shocked. Playing through a JCM 800 with 4 vintage 30's I was amazed at how these pick ups cleaned up, giving that bell like chime LP sound. Ofcourse on the other end these things rock with all the drive and power you could need.
Features
Typical LP controls with the exception of the kill pot, which is pretty cool. Easy to use.
Ease of Use
As stated above, simplicity for some great tones.
Quality
Seems to be very well made, another surprise. I was extremely happy with the quality of this guitar. Well made and absolutely beautiful. Action was low and perfect for me right out of the box. Also doesn't come with a case, but for this price, who cares? Got the Epi LP case and it's great as well. But that's another review :)
Value
This guitar is an AMAZING value! Fantastic guitar without the empty bank account.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to use it and don't see any issues where I would. Having dealt with Gibson in the past, I've always got good results. Don't see where this would be any different.
The Wow Factor
It's just a gorgeous guitar. I love the black hardware and the black color with the binding, well that's what caught my eye before I bought it. I feel I've been missing out spending a lot of money on guitars without giving the Epiphones a look. I love this thing!

Musical Background:

40 plus years, played professionally in the past. Pretty much for my own enjoyment and love of guitars now.

Musical Style:

Classic rock, metal, blues.

"Purely Amazing"

I have always liked Epiphone guitars. This one is one of my favorites! You dont have to play metal to appreciate the nice tones this guitar puts out. EMG pickup's sound just purely amazing! The finish on this guitar is spot on and I received it with no defects from Zzounds. The killpot is a big plus in my book. I am switching from an Epiphone Les Paul Junior and the differences are night and day. The guitar does weigh more than my Junior but that is to be expected and the weight isnt substantial over my Junior. The only drawback would be that the pickups require a 9v battery to operate. This isnt a deal breaker for me because it pumps out amazing sound. I wanted to mention the battery just in case someone does not want to change a battery in a limited edition guitar.

Musical Background:

home player, less than 1 year experience

Musical Style:

Rock, hard rock, alternative, some metal

When I received my MKH at my front door, unpacked it and started playing it right away. After of playing a couple of hours, I noticed a crack below the nut that went into the back of the neck. I called zZ and explained to them about the crack, no questions asked. They emailed me a RA slip right away. I shipped the guitar back that same day and I received my brand new MKH guitar in four days, just in time for Christmas!
Sound
This guitar sounds amazing through my Boss ME-25 effects pedal and Marshall Mg15 Micro Stack. The sounds are amazing through this guitar!
Features
The all Black with white bindings make this a standout. The Axcess neck is really amazing. the EMG 81 & 85 pickups sound really strong for whatever effect I choose.
Ease of Use
Despite being a little heavy from what I've played in the past, the guitar is really easy on my fingers. That's something I was worried about, but thankfully it's easy on my left hand.
Quality
MKH LP is well made in every aspect, looking forward to playing this guitar and passing it on to loved ones when I get old.
Value
Worth every dollar and then some! Thanks to zZounds for making this guitar available at an awesome price. Couldn't buy this guitar without the 8 easy payment plans!!
The Wow Factor
This Guitar stands out on its own! No Question about it!

Musical Background:

I've been playing guitar on & off for several years.

Musical Style:

I play metal, rock & anything that catches my taste.

Amazing guitar! Sound is solid, guitar is made solid!
Sound
I'll start off by saying the sound of this guitar is amazing. This is the first EMG equipped guitar ive owned. I listen to Metallica, Trivium, Slayer, etc. So the EMG's fit well for my playing style of mostly heavy/thrash metal. I use this with a Marshall MG15 and a Digitech Multieffects pedal and it sounds great.
Features
Features are great on this guitar. This killpot is a nice feature added and easy to use. The tone and volume knobs are also easy to figure out.
Ease of Use
The ease of use on this product is great. Unpacked this guitar, tuned it to E standard and was playing right away. Took no time to figure out what volume and tone knobs went to each pickup. This guitar is easily playable because he action is super low.
Quality
As far as quality goes I would put this up there with a $2000 Gibson. I believe the reliability will be great on this product being that it's made from mahogany. The knobs and tuning pegs seem to be high quality.
Value
The value on this is great. This quality of guitar with the EMG's should be going for so much more. Matt Heafy has made sure Trivium fans can get a replica of his Gibson without having to pay the price.
Manufacturer Support
Didn't have to use this but I'm sure it's great.
The Wow Factor
5/5 stars for he wow factor. Got this guitar two days ago and haven't wanted to put it down ever since.

"Epiphone Matt Heafy Les Paul Custom"

I'm learning how to play the guitar. I decided to take the electric guitar route rather than acoustic guitar, I've heard it's a little more fun with electric. I researched other electric guitars at prices higher than this model. Considering the nature of this guitar, this limited edition model, this is a great deal. The EMG pick ups go great with it. Overall, I'm very satisfied.
