I’ve never been one of those people who think every guitar should have a sunburst finish. When I saw the purple sparkle Epiphone SG, I knew I would own it. It’s a genuine beauty in every aspect. Flawless really. Now, I must say that the Probuckers are very good pickups. They are warm sounding with good tone. The ebony fretboard is a real gem. Tuners are good. Some great tones available with this guitar as well. I love the look and it plays with relevant ease. It arrived in pristine condition. I’m well past the age of needing applause. I record but I don’t gig. My musical efforts are strictly cathartic. I’m really looking forward to recording with this guitar. zZounds payment plans are awesome. I’ve never experienced any attitude by anyone I’ve talked to there. I’m very happy I purchased the Epiphone SG. It’s a keeper. I’m tellin’ ya: Epiphone has upped their game big time. Have a good one and keep on rockin’!

This is a high end Epiphone at an affordable price. The look is amazing. From the sparkle finish, to the split diamond head stock inlay, bound fretboard. When I read that this guitar had an ebony fretboard I was sold on it. I was very surprised at how good the pickups sounded. Very well rounded sound. I used it live for the first time this weekend and got lots of compliments on the sound look of this guitar. The only major downside on this guitar was the truss rod was set way too tight. The strings were laying on the frets. It took almost a full turn to get it set properly. Hopefully they are not all set like this as this would be a major inconvenience to someone who is uncomfortable with truss rod adjustments. It's a five start guitar but loses one star for the setup. Other personal preference changes i made, I've never been a fan of the Lima bean shaped tuner buttons so I replaced them with keystones, swapped control knobs for speed knobs and replaced the white selector switch tip for black to match the rest of the plastic parts. I never understood why Gibson products with all black plastic parts come with white switch tips. Those changes were all personal preference. The stock parts are all functionally fine.
Sound
The sound quality is good. I believe it to be versatile enough to be used to play any tytpe of music.
