This guitar is fairly good based on the purchase price. The fit, finish, frets are good. It required a good set up, action & intonation BUT it is a $529 guitar, would expect more from a guitar twice this price, but this is not the case. I have owned Gibsons which required this much attention. The pickup is OK, not great. Being a P-90 dogear, what you get is what you get. It needs to be closer to the strings (ordered shim kit at $22 to achieve this) but pup is a little muddy with fair amount of gain and too much treble on high E, B & G string, BUT again, a $529 guitar. The tuners are fair, but the E, A & D fall out regularly, But a $529 guitar. My opinion: the neck and fret job are great, and this guitar may fulfill certain niches as is, but it will be an awesome guitar with better tuners, possibly a more period correct wiring kit and an upgraded pickup, set at the correct height. My plan is to upgrade with an Emerson Gibson Les Paul wiring kit (with oil & paper Bumblebee cap) a Seymour Duncan Antiquity P-90 pup & upgraded tuners, possibly Gotoh vintage locking tuners, to enhance the sound quality, gain/tone variation and tuning stability bringing to guitar much closer, if not equal, with a guitar at 2 to 3 times the cost.
