After coming off an extremely disappointing purchase of a new Gibson Double Trouble Les Paul late in 2025 - I decided to revert back to the Epi, as I’ve never had a bad one. The Gibson must’ve been a dead chunk of wood or something - had uncharacteristically low resonance for an LP, and notes in the typical sweet spots just refused to sing. The Epi, with its already famous build quality, passed the unplugged sound test with flying colors. In between a handful of GOOD Gibsons- this is probably my 11th or 12th Epi LP in a 20-year span, and like I stated, i personally haven’t had a bad one.
