Ordered this after watching steve from Boston review it.. had been thinking about a v recently and pulled the trigger on the blue sparkle. The pro buckers are quite responsive. I'm no stranger to them as they're in my epi LP. They crank heavy and calm down nicely. Guitar feels good to me. Neck is kinda inbetweenish as far as slim or thick. Good sustain. Balanced quite well. No dive and actually not bad sitting down. The blue and I think maybe purple?? Have the grover tuners.. the others seem to have the epi tuners.. a big plus for this exclusive run from zzounds is the included gig bag.. nice touch.. finish is good all way around. A tiny bit of upper fret sharpness but nothing I'm concerned with. Action was too high for me, was able to lower it quite low with no buzz. I'm calling it a keeper!

I bought this for the looks. The aesthetic of it brings me joy. The construction is closer to the original Flying V than most of what Gibson has put out under the Gibson name over the years. It has the right neck joint, the string through tailpiece... and the blue sparkle with chrome hardware makes it feel like its own thing, and not just the "dollar store Barbie" feel some Epiphones can have. It needed some attention upon arrival. The stock strings are junk, the fretboard was dry, and the setup and intonation were way off. All of that was easy to fix and cost nothing to do (except the strings). The important thing is it took a setup well. Frets are all level and the ends are well dressed and the neck is good and straight. It's a bit neck heavy with the Grover tuners, but they work quite well. The knobs are a bit cheap feeling, but the electronics are fine and the pickups are decent enough to leave them in place. Sure the paint is a bit thick, but come on... it's sparkle paint! Bottom line: I bought it for the looks, and ended up with a great guitar.
Sound
Sounds great. Maybe not as articulate as "real" Gibson Burstbuckers or Duncans... but probably about the best you'll get from Epi, and honestly no need to swap them out.
Features
The quick connect pickups are kind of useless because they are a different connector from what Gibson uses... so there really are not any pickups available that would be an easy swap. It's a feature that in practice doesn't do the consumer any good but maybe it makes manufacturing a bit easier which helps keep the price of the guitar low.
Ease of Use
It plays and sounds great.
Quality
I feel like this guitar should last a very long time. Nothing feels downright cheap. The knobs could maybe be replaced with beefier ones, but they work just fine.
Value
It's worth the asking price for the special paint job. It's also worth buying from zZounds for the same reason. Taste is subjective but I smile every time I look at it.
Manufacturer Support
No issues so far.
The Wow Factor
I bought it just to look at it. I wasn't expecting much in the way of a good guitar, but it's also a very good guitar. Win!

I am a little torn on this one, The guitar shipped and arrived safely, It plays great and is a great value. My only complaint is that I do not think the finish is on par with other Epiphone’s that I own. The blue sparkle looks good but there are a few areas where the silver flake was sprayed heavy over the blue which makes the guitar look like it is blemished in places. I should have returned it but I peeled the plastic when I played it. So beware uneven finish may be an issue if you order one of these.
