I just took the Epiphone Firebird out of the box a few minutes ago. We have all heard how they are just as good as Gibson‘s, and how epigones are making it come back and how everything is awesome. I can’t post the picture here, but the nut on my neck is skewed about a quarter of an inch to the right, taking all the strings along with it. I can’t play the first fret high E string until I fix this. And that’s what you get for a $700 Chinese guitar. Oh - and the most anemic-sounding pickups I’ve heard in years. It looks pretty, but it’s unusable.
