If someone stole this guitar, I would definitely replace and go out and find the dirt bag who stole my other one and the cops would have to strain his remains to find the fingerprints in which to identify him!! I intend to stay with guitar for quite some time and if I wore it out...I would restore it. Beautiful satin finish.. no fingerprints to clean up, the Mini Humbuckers are a nice feature and give off excellent tones,, solid construction, fit and finish is #1, lightweight, easy to take anywhere....and if you play Rocksmith for hours on end...you will appreciate the light weight
Sound
From the Blues to Motley Crue...this guitar will do it, it resonates very well, sometimes too good..Sounds great unplugged and just strumming your favorite tunes too.
Features
I wish this version had the tremelo setup, that is what I originally was looking for, but they seem to be hard to find, but with a tremelo pedal...I do not have to deal with the mechanism anyway
Ease of Use
This guitar is very playable, just threw a tune on it and tightened up the intonation and the sounds were exquisite!!
Quality
This guitar is built very well, and appears that it will last along time with minimal care.
Value
How could you go wrong with this quality of a product for what I paid for it...I have paid more for high priced dinners and did not get this much enjoyment
Manufacturer Support
Have Not had to deal with warranty issues.
The Wow Factor
I have always loved the early Wilshires and just thought they screamed Rock and Roll. My friends all ask to borrow it, I have to wrestle my 22 year old son to play it.. What I like about the neck, it is slim..and having a little bit of arthritis, I can play and it does not bother me in the least. Now I gotta save and purchase an Original Wilshire from the sixties and I can die happy!

"First Class Mid 60's Retro!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Purchaser zZounds has verified that this reviewer purchased this specific product from us.
This is my go to stage axe for the next decade at least.
Sound
Versatile - you can go from warm and bluesy to bright jangle rock in an instant. Basically it's like someone cross pollinated an SG with a Strat and a Rickenbacker. Great axe if you play blues, classic rock, or a more jangly style alternative sound like early REM, Talking Heads, or Elvis Costello. When paired with my Fender Blues Junior amp great tone, especially with the "fat" switch on.
Features
Volume and tone for each pickup. Mini humbuckers have a little more "oomph" than single coils. Pro's may want to upgrade the humbuckers, but out of the box it is gig ready.
Ease of Use
Easy to dial in sounds, toggle switch sturdy and simple. comfortable neck. Body is sturdy but light, can play a long while without fatigue.
Quality
Put together well....Epi's overseas production has improved greatly in recent years. No blems, decent set up out of the box (pro's will want to tweak it)decent strings, held tune for nearly two hours first time I played it.
Value
Variety of sounds(unless you're a metal player, than I suggest an SG)suitable for several types of music....jazz, blues, classic rock, I'd put this on a par with any of the MIM Tele's or Strats.
Manufacturer Support
Had to deal with Epi once with my Les Paul ultra. Quick response.
The Wow Factor
Great retro looks. In the mid 60's these were briefly popular. Hendrix and Pete Townshend both owned one. I have the worn black and have received several compliments.

"Feels delicate but this classic looking guitar is a unique stand out at any price."

Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
This guitar will play straight out of the box, has good tones and stays in tune. It looks great and has a unique body and head that stands out as both rare and classic. The hardware is solid and the neck is good, (mine has an issue), but the body feels too light. There is a little bend-play to the neck to body connection that is noticeable when forced. Using a "grippier" strap will keep the heavy neck up a little better. At around $300 you really can't go wrong.
Sound
Good tones from stock pickups. As with anything, you get what you pay for and everything can be modified. Want better pickups? Just buy and install but the stock will be good enough for most folks, especially at this price range.
Features
Uniquely fantastic looking guitar, 3-way toggle with volume and tone for each pickup, stays in tune just fine, neck feels good, hardware looks and feels solid. A right angle input jack should be used with this. Mine did have a right angle cord packed in but a longer and better quality cable will be desired.
Ease of Use
Just tune and play. If you can play guitar, then you can play this guitar just fine. The pickup configuration took me an extra minute to figure out. Toggle to center and both pickups are active but turning either volume low will reduce overall volume. For example, if neck is at ten but bridge is at zero, you will have no sound. I did not test the center position for the tone controls but I suspect that in the center position with both pickups active you do not have individual control over sound for each pickup but rather overall control over the combined signal.
Quality
All the hardware is good. The neck is heavier than the body and when using a strap the neck will slip down every time you let go. The fixed neck is fine for experienced players but new players for "rockers" that strain the neck while playing will notice that the neck will "bend" a little when pushed or pulled. It seems to come back to center under no load and will stay in tune but this neck to body wobble has me concerned. The 5th string "A" on my guitar is catching the next fret up at the 1st, 2nd and 3rd frets which creates a buzz in the string, (still making adjustments to bridge and those frets to fix). The body is very lightweight and thinner than I'm accustomed to. Does not feel like a guitar that I can abuse.
Value
A great looking and playable guitar under $340 is a great value.
Manufacturer Support
Have not tried support.
The Wow Factor
The style is not necessarily sexy but it is clean and smooth. Unique limited edition guitar is a stand out.

"great guitar for the money"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

beautiful guitar. appeared clean fresh and flawless out of the box.played it for awhile with factory strings and setup. played good but needed intonation.changed strings, checked neck relief, adjusted action, set intonation and pickup height a tad, and i have not put it down since it got here a month ago. this guitar is capable of most anything. i play rock, oldies and hard rock and it does the trick, clean or driven. wider neck than my squier strat, and for me its pretty easy to chord and play leads on. for the money its a great guitar for the house or for the gig, you cant go wrong with this one i gave manufacturer support a one star because i have not used them. you dont need to spend a fortune to play and enjoy music!!! this guitar rock and rolls.

"My review after a closer inspection. nice guitar ,true to the orignal, keeper!"

I'll keep this guitar just because of the menories i had playing the orignal one i had. its a fine piece no matter what the price was. its also lite in weight so it won't wear you out doing a 4 hour gig. It really was above my expectations go Epiphone!
Sound
I'm the guy that did the firsr review and this is a follow up. the guitar came ups tonight and i got rate on it doing the setup. While doing the intonation the E A and D string saddle didn't have enough room to get the intonation perfect. If you look close there's a little wire that holds the sattles in place. This is pretty much standard on all tuneamatic bridge types. I pulled the wire out and turned the saddles around in the other direction so i'd have more travel towards the neck. It was just enough to bring the intonation in perfect on all 3 good deal! I set the action a a half turn lower on each side and set the piclup height 3/32 on the high e side and 1/8" on the bass side. No neck ajustment was needed. I gave the strings a good pull at the 12th and retuned. I plugged into a badger 18 with a V30 hellatone and lots of pedals I must say i'm pretty happy with the guitar. The bridge pickup is a little bright but i expected that for the orignal was the same way. I liked the middle position a lot. this was good for general rhythms and if you like a strat you'll dig this position. the neck pickup was warm with just enough brightness to cut through close in sound to a good single without the hum. I'm pretty impressed with the overall looks of the guitar as well . there's no sign of cheapness or bad craftmanship. I know most guitars made today are done on CNC machines so you get a near perfect guitar every time. well, maybe not everytime . the fret work was very good too no issues there. I still might change pickups to some mini ducans. All in all its a pretty good deal and it is true to the orignal i'm impressed.
Features
It comes with a cheapo cable and another change from the orignal a allen truss rod wrench. The orignal had a brass nut there.
Ease of Use
i just say after the setup it plays very well. I cranked up the gain and there were no microphonics so the pickup must be potted well.
Quality
I give the quality rating a 9. The guitar is just made very well. everything a justed up just fine and smoothly. after a little breakin time she'll get even better. bang for the buck? i give it a 10
Value
it worth it.
Manufacturer Support
no clue
The Wow Factor
it is a carbon copy of the orignal its a bare bones earthy kind of guitar. i call it a natural

still yet to be seen
Sound
OK guy /Girl i grew up playing one of the orignals and it had one sweet tone. The back pickup was a bit bright but the neck pickup was the one i played on all the time. It was one great playing guitar. Its a short scale guitar like a Gibson with a flatter playing surface "radius" The neck is thin like one of the early firebirds and a sound like Johnny Winters early stuff. I loved this guitar and wore it out and like a fool traded it in on a new guitar for 50 bucks. If epiphone is making this guitar again under the same standards were all be getting a great guitar. I orderd one here a few dayz ago and i'm hoping its the real deal for 379.00 i've found a few good playing guitars around this price range godin is one.
Features
if the fret work is done right as the orignals you'll love it. mini humbucker came standard on deluxe les pauls and they do sound sweet. but at this price i'm thinking i might have change these but we'll see.
Ease of Use
they were a dream to play and bend notes on. Great classic rock/southern rock guitar. If your not sure about setups , have a pro do it for you but you may not need to.
Quality
we'll see the pic's look premo
Value
if its true to the orignal its the same i paid for a used one in the 70s
Manufacturer Support
lifetime we'll see.
The Wow Factor
i loved the guitar back in the 70 and in my early learning years

Musical Background:

play live for years and into recording.

"Meh"

Overall: 2 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
All in all, this is just one of those cheaper guitar that'll cost you a mint to turn into a reasonable instrument, worthy of any respect. If you're looking for a beater, I still can't even recommend it. If you do decide to purchase, I'd pull the whole thing apart and fix all of the wiring / nuts before even playing it.
Sound
Not bad, not great. The pickups are kind of interesting, but they aren't really satisfying.
Features
I like the depth of control over the volume and tone. Also, the tuners are worth mentioning -- the damn things stay in tune for ... a rather long time. Pleasantly surprised.
Ease of Use
Well, this depends on the person. I have no problem with this kind of four knob setup, but some folks do.
Quality
This is where the product really fails. The input, like on most epiphones, went out in little under a week. Most of the pot nuts are loose. The knobs are terribly flimsy... I mean, to the point where I have to ask: Why bother? This part of the guitar feels very much like a toy.
Value
For the money, there are much better guitars. Like I said, the electronics are just garbage, and the knobs are a joke.
Manufacturer Support
I haven't had to deal with them, so they get the benefit of the doubt.
The Wow Factor
After using it... much less than before. I give it the before vote to be fair.
