Epiphone Inspired by 1964 Texan Acoustic-Electric Guitar

No ordinary dreadnought, the Epiphone Texan is the acoustic guitar of choice for some of the world's top songwriters -- including Paul McCartney, circa 1964.

Epiphone has always been my go to preference when it comes to acoustic guitars. I ordered this guitar at 2pm yesterday and it arrived this morning at 10am! After a thorough inspection and setup, it is easy to see that this guitar is an incredible value. Fit and finish were flawless, not a spec of glue around the neck or around the beefy bracing inside the soundhole. This guitar has a crisp, woody tone to it with great bass response (i.e. Felice Brothers, Gregory Alan Isakov). The tuners are actually surprisingly precise. The antique natural finish is beautiful! I have yet to plug in, so I can't speak for the electronics. If you are on the fence about purchasing this guitar I can honestly tell you that it does not disappoint. Zzounds price matched this guitar for me, and i took advantage of the 4 Easy Pay Plan. Thanks to Zzounds for the A+ service and for a product that will bring me joy for many years to come!

FedX delivered this 3 days after I did the on line ordering. The outer box had just a slight tear. Inside was the heavy cardboard box. Zzounds!!!!! This one lacked a bit of padding on the head stock but made the trip with no scratches. I opened it and it was ice cold so I left it sit for a few hours. I hit a few strings and was very happy with the sound. I thought two strings sounded a but dull so I got my tuner out, loosened all the strings and started with the 3rd one down. After tuning all the strings I went over them. I played a few short songs and was very, very impressed. I like the shape of the Humming bird Pro but this sounds better for a slight change in the body design. Don't get me wrong as I am not a professional but as a ham radio operator I have gear that can measure the sound and this Epiphone Inspired by 1964 Texan Acoustic-Electric Guitar rings out on top looking at the scope. I never used a pickup like this guitar has but when I hooked up to the amp I played a JD song and my neighbor later told me he just loved the sound of the guitar. When I hammer the strings hard the amp spits out the sound to the speaker and then the string still vibrating picks up what it gets from the speaker and it creates sort of harmonic and sounds really great. I don't know how much John Larson paid for his guitar but with my MIC and $250.00 sound system I can make this $400.00 guitar sound like his that I hear on U tube. Just a tip that I do on all my guitars is I put a dab of Olive oil on the nut when tuning and that keeps the strings bind free. If I could only have one and only one guitar this would be the one. Another plus for me since I play down and no higher then the 5th fret, the nut is wider. Support is fantastic and E mail and calls are always answered and the return policy is just uneal. Some person stated that Zzounds charged a fee for each month and I checked with my bank and they confirmed it is not true. Zzounds is getting more and more people to play as they pay and I guess the business Competition does not like it so they start posting lies about a Company that is helping people get back into playing. Have played many guitars over the years and I was in disbelief at the quality of this guitar. You’ve heard them before say “mine was set up and played right out of the box”. Mine was perfect. Never had such a low action on any guitar I’ve owned. Perfect fit and finish. Nice sound. Have not tried the pickup yet. Usually, I don’t use one. This one is a keeper. Don’t know how they do it at this price point but I’m sure glad I purchased this guitar. BTW, I have had no Trouble with these tuning machines. Mine work fine..

i am a solo singer guitarist. i own a martin x series, an ibanez aeg1181, and a 45 year old yamaha acoustic. this guitar is now my favorite. The neck is the perfect size and shape. i am an aggresive player and the jumbo body handles my style. great sounds plugged into my Boss acoustic singer amp, at this price you cant go wrong. ithere is an original 1966 texan in my home studio and the years have given it a beautiful voice, this newer version is an excellent attempt to recreate the quality of that original,I couldn't be happier, and i will stop buying acoustic electrics, this is all i need.

I've owned cheap guitars and expensive guitars... I've never felt one like this! Exactly the feel i've been looking for that I want sure existed. Great sound, easy on the eyes, and so incredibly easy to finger pick. I love it!
