This guitar is fantastic right out of the box. Good craftsmanship of the neck, body, and the paint. I got it with no damage.scratches,etc... I just had to set up intonation which wasnt that bad. And I also lowered the strings down a bit. Shipping was quick and had no hassles what so ever. And with ZZounds four payment plan it was very affordable.

"Didn't get it from zZounds, but you should get it."
I have about 10 stringed instruments at the moment. About 5-6 of them electric guitars, all solidbody. I've always wanted to pick up a semi-hollow or a hollowbody but I was too afraid it would be limited in the range of sound, and therefore, how much I would play it. Forget about that. If this is your first electric guitar or if you just have some extra cash for an extra guitar burning a hole in your pocket, pick this guitar up and know that it's probably one of the best buys on the planet in a new guitar. The pickups are totally better than adequate and the guitar is dynamic without feeding back or being too microphonic. It's capable of playing a wide range of music with more depth than any of my Les Pauls or my Strat-alikes. You really cannot beat this guitar for $300, and that's acknowledging that taste is subjective. You can make this guitar sound serviceable for any kind of music and get dynamics and pickup clarity that most people pay a lot more money for. It stays in tune, and even seems quite sturdy for a semi-hollowbody, though I wouldn't go out of my way to test that.

I have many guitars, including two other Epiphone Dots (one of those is a black Dot Studio). My cherry red Dot Studio has become a go to guitar for me. Really well made, great playability and sound. Very beautiful, as well. The price is amazing!

Just got the Epiphone Dot Studio, and so far I'm loving it. Such a rich sound. It sounds better than any other electric I have, and the glossy red finish looks great, and I'm not a fan of gloss, but on this guitar it looks great. Got it hooked to a Zoom MS-70cdr, and running stereo with two Vox Pathfinder 10's, and it sounds amazing. It makes me want to improve my playing.
