this is a great deal for the price ..but try it first ,it might not be what your hoping for ..the sounds dissapointed me..but the sequencing is worth it too ...just chek it out. if you want it ,dont let others opinion's decide for you.
Sound
this is really the only part of this machine i can complain about... most of the presets were dull and lacking feel, accept for a select few(the nylon guitar is great).Alot werent deep or loud enough to use with others and seemed to be genre based and at times cheazy...
it was difficult to create original sounds, and the operation manual only discouraged me by actualy refering the z plane filter as "real rocket science"...
Features
GREAT 16 track Sequence: if you desired to you could use this for a center sequencer for your midi crap.its got loads of channels, but only has one midi in (you could use an interface?)..good arpeggs. If your good with teideous menue`s then the synth engine will suit you fine.if your more hands on and like to create fast sounds, there is quick edit with the knobs.but if you only use that youll be very limited of creative, original, costomized sounds.
Quality
for some reason mine freezes when i pass a prest pattern "se jive" ..that sucks ,its probally not common.
Value
its worth what it costs for all of the functions it has... definatly!
The Wow Factor
looks great ,i wouldnt say i lust for looks though.

I would not rely soley on the 2500 for my sound source. I also use the MPC4000 by itself or in combination with sounds derived from the proteus. As well mny good keyboard sound are available.
Sound
Don't be fooled by the samples on the 2500. Whoever did these must have been in a sweat shop / assembly line environment and had to push these thru.
Good phat sounds can be attained. Most people I have talk to that are not satisfied with the 2500 use it as a "do it all" piece of equipment and are too lazy to explore the potentials of the 2500. This can be an awesome complement to any studio.
Features
Easily, this equipment does not need four rack spaces. This is definitely an engineering design oversight. At the most this unit can be easily contained in two rack spaces.
Quality
Don't keep the 2500 connected to a continual source of electricity; even in the shutdown mode. In case there is an electricl outage, when the electricity is restored the 2500 automaticlaly turn on.
Value
At $500 - $600 dollars you can't can't beat the price for the quality of sound you're getting from the 2500.
The Wow Factor
In spite of the fact that the 2500 hogs four rack spaces, tt really looks good in the studio.

Sound
Don't own anymore - returned. Sounds were dead. My Korg X3 sounded better.
Features
Had it hooked up for 30 minutes before repacking and returning. Can't say.
Quality
Lightweight and somewhat cheesy. Exactly why I refuse to purchase anything with Creative's name on it.
