I really love those pickups : - easy to install- sounds great clean, crunch, and with higher gain settings, the neck is extremely convincing for jazz and blues, works great for rock, never gets muddy, sounds tight in higher gain.- you can really set them very close to the string for high output, you wont have any pull issue like conventional pickups- it is nicely shielded, you dont need to ground your cavities, the pickup are extremely quiet, even in strong EMF environment what I would have really like :- the bridge pickup came with 3 springs, I wish I had 5 instead, it is only 5$ for the springs- maybe it is too much to ask, but it can be not so ok with a 7.25" radius neck, the pickups are flat, if your bridge is matching the neck radius, it is not totally balanced, it is a minor, but it makes a case for those who like original 52 or more vintage pick up, but if you have a modern tele...well... It is probably the best pickup you can install in a telecaster, if you want it to sound like a telecasterI have contacted customer support also for some minor issues due a room full of EMF, they reached out for help, it took a week to get an answer, but EMG was there to help and troubleshoot, and this is great too

"not you expect when you think emg"

these pickups are very articulate and clear (like alot of emg stuff) but have that vintage voice behind them. i put this "system" in my classic vibe 50s tele and it is a massive improvement...which says alot, because the stock pups aren't bad at all. these were super simple to install (did have to route the control cavity a touch for the battery to fit easily...no biggie if you have access to a router). install took maybe 20mins including re-stringing it up. you do need to raise the pickups up as high as you can for them to reach their full potential. the neck is super smooth and jazzy with just enough bite to make it more use-able than most tele neck pups i've played. the bridge is pretty standard fair if i'm being honest, but it's a little tamer than my stock bridge (which i like). bridge is definitely an improvement over stock but not quite the drastic upgrade the neck was. controls work as they should, they clean up nicely, treble roll-off is a bit more present than i'd like but it's fine (i don't use tone much on my tele anyway). everything feels super sturdy, well-built and nicely packaged. if you think of emg and only think of metal and that sort of thing, think again, at least when it comes to their single coil stuff. very impressive. and that neck pickup is really incredible.
