The price of this EV 309A shock mount is what drove me to zZounds. I installed easily and perfectly. Its what my RE-20 broadcast mic needed. But the price! whoa. better than anywhere I looked, and it was in stock.. Thanks

Quality
After a few weeks of use, the main plastic mic holder cracked in several places, rendering the whole mount useless. Quality problems.
Value
No. A good and decades old design, but they need to solve their current QA manufacturing problems with this product.

Contacted EV but they would not supply a replacement part.

"30 years and working fine"
I've got the older 309 in EV gray, still with original suspension and no problems after 30 years of radio station use. It really finishes the look and function of the RE27, but it seems overpriced for what it is. But, whaddya gonna do ?
