I was not expecting to love this product. It has so many features that I knew some would fall flat. Still, it ends up being very versatile and giving you some really key options. I use it in my rig with a small digital modeler, the intention of which is to plug straight into a PA. The Holy Stain sort-of acts as your amp in this configuration. People have compained about coloring the tone, but it really lights up the tone on a simple modeler. You get almost a real amp sound from the clean/warm selection, and you do get a decent overdrive and fuzz that are like engaging separate channels. Both reverbs are excellent. The room is a liitle bouncier, and the hall is more resonating and full. The vibrato is really good. It is very picky about settings, but every vibrato effect I have ever used is. So, I'd say this thing can be really good in a 'short board' kind of situation. It can even take the place of an amp and still have a lot of good sound/utility. The truest complaints I've heard about it are that it does too much, nothing well, and is hard to control. I think if you have 'long' pedal board that has good distortion and reverb effects on it already, this thing will not take their place. It's more about having a set of key features to play with on a 'short board' or if you just don't use more than 1-2 effect pedals.
