"Very nice sound, build and quality for the price"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Very good for what it is. The sound is the best bit. I haven't tried anything extensive (like very large number of track, but anything I have done, there have been no problems at all). I am running this on a Macbook and previously on a PC. For its size and price its pretty amazing. I would only get something else if I need more ins and some mic pre amps (which I will need one day but not now). Even then Ill keep it, its so good for travelling.
Sound
Really nice converters. Very clean sound. Very nice sound for this size and this price
Features
It comes with a dongle if you need midi and spdif i/o - best of all, it doesn't come with much, because thats the whole point - its small and you don't need much for it
Ease of Use
Plug and play with driver installation - no problems, just worked. Latest drivers have nice software routing option.
Quality
Very high quality - nicely built, solid little device. Its hard not to like it.
Value
Very good value, really nice sound for the price - and so small. Awesome for gigging, especially the seperate headphones channels
Manufacturer Support
When I bought this back in early 2007 when they had just released it there was some initial problems with early drivers and the support was pretty quick getting back to me. Haven't needed any support for about a year now, the drivers are all smooth and everything is working well
The Wow Factor
It barely takes any space on your desk but looks so cool how it is. Its nice design, nice materials.

"THE gigging converter."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
This box offers good quality converters in a tiny form factor. Really best for gigging setups where you can stuff your whole rig into a backpack.
Sound
Excellent quality DAC, quite clean. The headphone output can really drive my cans.
Features
This box is a substitute for my now obsolete Echo io pcmcia card that doesn't fit into the new mac books. I use as a gigging converter, it's small size is unmatched by anything else out there. It's got a separate headphone mix allowing you to cue...this something my old Echo io didn't have...it all works quite well.
Ease of Use
brainless setup for macs.
Quality
Well built, tough aluminum case.
Value
I think it would be a most awesome deal if it were priced about 20% lower but since it's the smallest feature-packed unit out there I had to buy this one.
Manufacturer Support
This thing has been rock-solid so far same went for my Echo io card. Echo's been around awhile and has had plenty of time to get it right.
The Wow Factor
Well...it's just a box.

"beautiful design-no audio no midi-greatest doorstop ever"

Overall: 1.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
if you have a Texas Instruments or a reliable FireWire chipset, this is a brilliant cards, except for the lack of master volume control, and their drivers really haven't been extensively tested yet.
Sound
I only managed to get one program to play sound, but it was very nice quality
Features
really had to be a six because of a lack of the knob for the master volume, but it is amazingly feature packed for its size.it's smaller than a CD case in surface.
Ease of Use
no MIDI, no audio, audio in the volume controls, not in the speakers, MIDI not in the volume controls or in the applications.could just not get this working on my super crap dell chipset FireWire-it's not that bad!
Quality
build quality is outstanding, design quality is outstanding, driver quality will come along because Echo seem to update their drivers a lot more often than Maudio for these kinds of things but currently it's too early.August 2007.audiophile FireWire kicks the pants of this even though it crashes every three minutes with MIDI and the audio crashes occasionally and the volume control jams-its directx thread priority issues-immature software.
Value
if it worked it would be great
Manufacturer Support
the guy responded well but I just returned it because I don't have time to troubleshoot
The Wow Factor
I want it to work-it doesn't.
