Picked up a new Yamaha 5 string a few weeks back. Love the way it plays, but wasn’t crazy about the stock strings. I’ve been using Ernie Ball Cobalts, but wanted to try something different with the active electronics.Decided to try these new Dunlops because they’re supposed to sound balanced. I really like the way they sound. Definitely an improvement over the stock. They get along well with the eq, and sound good in passive mode too. After breaking them in for a couple days, I decided to order a couple sets of 4 string to try out on 1 or 2 of my other basses. Would recommend, if you’re looking for a nice balanced tone. (Didn’t need to contact Manufacturer Support, it’s just strings.)

I have started putting these strings on all of my basses. For me the tension is perfect on both 34" and 35" scale basses. They have a smooth feel and are bright sounding, but do not lack any mid or low end. The strings do mellow out over time, but stay a bit brighter than the Super brights or the DR pure blues. Also, they seem to last a very long time. Great strings at a great price!
