I have played a Pearl Export Series for 15+ years. I've always wanted an acrylic kit and finally purchased it. Felt it was time for an upgrade. These drums sound fantastic. I use the stock heads for resonant heads and Remo coated Emperors on batter for toms, X-coated for snares, and clear Powerstroke 3 on bass. I recommend purchasing lug locks too. It really helps lock that sound in once they're tuned. Can't wait to add the 18x16 floor tom and 8x7 rack.

for the price I can't imagine a better set of drums. punchy articulate, nice tone. excellent hardware I saw the cure last year and they were using these. couldn't believe a band like that was using drums I could afford. and they look amazing. I get compliments all the time on their look and sound.

Love the drums, great tone, and they are visually attractive . Little disappointed that the kit didn't at least come with tom mounts . My 700.00 Mapex shell pack kit did .That's why I'm giving it a 4 on the features. In my opinion a kit at this price, even though sold as a shell pack, should contain tom mounts.
