I have owned DW 5000 pedlas since the 80's they keep making them smoother and faster. I bought qty of these AD3 5000 pedals they are quiet, fast smooth and powerful and I purchased while on clearence for only $119.00 each They hold up to my Double bass licks. There are other pedals that cost more, but this and the Tama Iron Cobra are probably the two most popular options out there for drummers looking for a pro-quality top of the line pedal. This is a serious upgrade from the two other pedals I've owned and I'm not disappointed... pretty much lives up to all the hype. I was looking to get a "faster" pedal action, but was worried I might be trading off power... was pleasantly surprised that this pedal is smooth/fast/responsive but also packs a pretty walloping punch. I've got it set up at home on my recording kit, but I wish I could afford a second one to take with my gigging kit. Recommended.
