Got my NYX and I've never owned anything like it before. It has it's own crazy sound I can only describe it as somewhere between an electric guitar and a string machine with lots of reverb added. I have yet to really dive into the little box since I just got it but out of all my other gear I've brought on zZounds I will say that the sound this makes is in it's own category. It's not really for everyone but people that have all the other synth sounds cover this is a wild card to throw in your setup.
The Pro's of it are the wild sounds you can pull off with it if you need something that's "different". Wild ambient gritty and beautiful sounds and a whole lot to be explored. It's not a box you go into knowing what you want it's a box you go into to experiment with and create a crazy sound with.
The Con's:
It's really it's own thing you have to figure it out and it's not that straight forward. Also like the boutiques this has really tiny sliders and switches. I'm used to roland boutiques so it's not that bad but it would be better if the switches were bigger because some of them have 3 selections and getting the switch in the center is too easy to skip over if you don't push the switch lightly.
The biggest con though is there's no headphone Jack. Have to use a headphone amp with the line out in order to hear it though my headphones. I don't really know what that's about other than that it's a fun gadget.
