"The Dean Razorback V255 Delivers"
This guitar was designed by a true Guitar hero. It does exactly what it says on the tin so it should endure well. It is well made with quality parts. As long as it keeps playing sounding and looking as good as it does, I wont be looking for a replacement unless I buy another Dean of course.
Sound
The guitar sounds amazing. Dean have done a good job. The EMG 81/85 combination is simply the best. I own 2 Gibson les Pauls and an Ibanez prestige 2550e, they all have different pickups but I have to say this guitar is in a different league when it comes to metal. The sustain is equal to my Les Pauls, Trem wipes the floor with the Ibanez edge pro. I play straight into a Marshall JVM 410 and the sound is awesome. More low end than a Jackson RR1 and endless pinch harmonics all over the neck. I wanted a guitar that could cut the mustard and this guitar delivers in truck loads.
Features
EMG 81/85 both active nothing much to say about them really, they do exactly what it says on the packet. - Licenced Floyd Rose, as good as a genuine floyd rose, without a doubt - Grover tuners, nice and smooth. Very nicely shaped neck that goes from wide and slim at the neck joint to Thin and shaped at the nut end. 25 frets, Nice fret board inlays. Excellent finish. The only down side is that the Floyd Rose Trem posts will not screw down lower to drop the action, they hit the bottom of the lugs in the body, this could be resolved by removing 4 mm from the bottom of the posts though? . The compartment on the back of the body for the battery is easily accessed and springs open. Excellent
Ease of Use
When I plugged the guitar in and struck a chord, I just smiled. The sound and sustain was amazing, I only has the gain on my amp on 12 o'clock and it screams. The other guitar player in my band plays a Jackson RR1 and even he was smitten with its sound and playability. The guitar is big and makes a statement. My particular guitar is Black/Silver V255 - pure metal.
Quality
Cosmeticaaly the guitar was pretty much A1. Some polishing compound l;eft of the side of the locking nut, a very small paint blemish in the V of the headstock but at the back but other than that superb. The guitar was even in tune. The shape does lend itself to be knocked and banged.Make sure you have a large sturdy Guitar stand and a hard case. This model comes with a hardshell case and its huge!! However, all in all, you buy a guitar like this for the sound and for how it looks. Its a players guitar with all the glitz and glamour of a Judas Priest gig. A Quality guitar with top dollar parts at an affordable price.
Value
I considered and ESP and a Jackson before buying the Razorback V.Unfortunately for the first two they are not offering guitars with the same parts. I wanted active EMGs I wanted a Floyd Rose, I wanted the look Dean offered all that with a hard case cheaper than the others. Job done.
Manufacturer Support
The guitar comes with a 5 year warranty!!! that is a statement in itself. Obviously Dean are confident in their products. I have not had any dealings with Dean, as nothing has gone wrong!
The Wow Factor
Just on looks this guitar seduces you and makes you want it. When you plug it in and play thats just the final nail in the coffin. The design is unique and is vsually impactive. It gets a wow everytime i put it one. Not the most practical guitar as its a V but a guitar like this is all about image and sound. If you buy this guitar Prcaticability is not your thing.

"Find a more Metal guitar at a better price and I'd almost be inclined to buy it for you."
Honestly I would probably keep this guitar until it wouldn't play through an amp anymore. When that time came I would probably seek out another Dean with similar features but it would surely cost more money....
Sound
EMG Pickups give this guitar the ultimate metal sound. Combine the sheer power output for amazing pinch or natural harmonics and the Floyd Rose and you have yourself an amazing sounding guitar.
Features
EMG's, a Floyd Rose, Grover Tuners, Dime Traction knobs, and a Hardcase. Could you really ask for More???
Ease of Use
The Playability of this guitar is godly. I felt like a pro playing this guitar. However if you don't know how to play with the EMG's you'll probably find yourself making lot's of noises you didn't intend to make. That little trait makes it a good tool to clean up your playing though.
Quality
It's a solid guitar and as long as you don't do anything that's sure to cause damage to it you won't have do worry about it.
Value
Most companies would charge way more for a guitar like this, and it would probably be worth it. Why spend extra dough though when you can get an amazing guitar at a steal.
Manufacturer Support
Didn't Deal with Dean's customer support but as a dean owner I'm fairly confident they'll be easy to work with. My experiance becomeind a D.O.A. member was simple and straitforward.
The Wow Factor
LOOK AT IT!
It looks like a weapon and it delivers in all aspects. Plus Dimebag Darrell Designed it, so pay tribute to the late great metal guitarist.
