This bass is a great acoustic starter bass and for those like me that are professionals that want to work on material without hooking up and waking the neighborhood.
Good: has a nice big body and full 24 fret long neck, the built in electronics are okay and sound reasonable and the overall quality seems pretty sound
Bad: typical with ALL cheaper Dean guitars, found this while getting a Dean starter for my daughter and true with this one - THEY DON'T DO THE FINISH JOB ON THE FRETS! The fret wire is cut on the ends, but no file work was done to round the edges and you can feel the sharp edges up and down the neck as you play. I had to get a StewMac fret dressing file just to finish the job.
When I finished the frets and tweaked the neck truss I ended up with a great playing bass, which I adorned with the phosphor bronze strings for a full acoustic sound.
