Got this bass about 2 mo. ago. came new in the box. no damage from shipping. Researched this bass for about a year. Most people where satisfied with it. And I am too. Great sound for the price. A bit big. But the sound is big to. I have no trouble in a acoustic setting.Clear clean sounds. Neck is straight. Some fret buzz. Replaced the strings. Put on a set of DR Phosphor-Bronze. Wow like a different bass.That stopped most of the fret buzz to. They could improve the electric pickup. But I bought it for the acoustics. You can replace it for better pickup it. It plays well and easy. Not the best 5 string out there. But for the price i haven't found a better bass yet.

I ordered a Dean acoustic 5 string bass and I freaking love that thing. The price of it made me kind of skeptical but once I had it in my hands and playing it i knew i made a good decision. Can't say enough good things about Dean and zzounds!

I'v tried other basses either they didn't sound right or they were too high with the same sound...
Sound
The sound that comes out is good quality. Your fingers gives it a warm sound, while using a pick will give you a bright sound, it also sound good on thump and pop.
Features
As an inactive pickup it doesn't come out of the amp as loud, but it sounds good.
Quality
The bass came perfit with no blemishes. It needs polish and wood oil for the body and neck. THe pickup is an inactive (no batterys).

I have own Deans for years. They are easy to reach. I have a 79 costom made flying V. I never had my guitar repaired on upgraded because of the great sound.

It has a great sound that you could use playing live or at home or for recordings.

It's awesome what you can get for the price sometimes. This is a good example. This bass has good action and sound and it's electric. The finish is nice as well.

The bass played OK, but had a faulty volume control. I feel that it was just a lemon. Zzounds graciously accepted it as a return, but I didn't want another one, because I don't trust the bass and wouldnt want to be on stage if the electronics decided to crap out in the middle of a set.
