"It's almost criminal!!"

The best pedal I have ever heard. I bought it because I am a Queen fan and I will be playing in the Queen Stage Musical "WE WILL ROCK YOU" in 2007. With very few exceptions, this pedal is going to handle the entire show. I am delighted with it.
Sound
The sound of this pedal is simply amazing. Those seeking that elusive Brian May tone will not be disappointed and the ease with which you will suddenly find your solos soaring to the rafters is almost criminal! The playing dynamics are very responsive and the the pedal offers variations in tone from the Brian May settings for those feeling adventurous. I recommend keeping your amp channel as clean as possible with no reverb for best results. The pedal really does all the work for you!
Features
The overall package is nicely presented and the gig bag is a nice touch. Where did they get all those sixpences from?! The controls are intuitive and the treadle offers further variations on most of the patches. I was like a kid waiting for Santa after I ordered it and it has lived up to and beyond my expectations.
Ease of Use
It was clear immediately that I would need the additional FS3X footswitch as I require the pedal for stage work. Model selection is a little cumbersome otherwise. The footswitch answers all the problems of live performance though so I can't mark it down too much.
Quality
Indestructable! The best quality you can expect to see in a guitar pedal. It's nice and heavy and doesn't move around thanks to a combination of its weight and a large rubber footplate.
Value
The tone of this pedal is undeniably fantastic! I have not come close to achieving this sound with any of the amp models on my other gear. That said, it's not cheap. You are paying for quality, and that is what you get.
Manufacturer Support
I ordered my pedal from the USA to save money. I dealt with both Digitech and their UK distributer to make sure I got a UK power supply. Both were quick to respond and easy to deal with, and I still saved money!!
The Wow Factor
I don't know what I did without it! If you are tempted by this pedal, just throw caution to the wind and get one. Go on!!

REVIEW OF DIGITECH MANUAL The DigiTech Red Special Pedal: Owner`s Manual After reading it, I now understand what an incredible pedal this is. It is a masterpiece indeed. (Very detailed information in the manual) ! Earlier I was thinking of buying a harmonizer, or a pitch shifter pedal, to try and create the harmonies you hear in Chinese Torture (Album: The Miracle), Procession (Album: Queen II) or the Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon solo (Album: A Night At The Opera). I also had in mind to buy a treble booster pedal. But what I discovered after reading carefully through the manual, is that the DigiTech pedal has a built-in treble booster, and also an orchestral harmonizer, that produces a three-part harmony!! The pitch blend is adjustable. In addition the pedal also has got tape flanger, delay, and phaser effects. All adjustable. The sound is mainly like played through Brian [May]`s Vox AC30 amplifiers, but there is also an option to select the "Deacy amp sound", or the Fender Telecaster played through a 60`s Combo for CLTCL. So what you get with this pedal, is the sound of the Red Special Guitar in combination with one or more of these built-in sounds and effects: Treble booster Harmonizer Tape Flanger Phaser Deacy Amp Vox AC30 Fender Telecaster Reverb Distortion A plus is that by turning the Guitar Knob on the pedal, you can select Single Coil(Stratocaster), Humbucker (Les Paul) or Red Special (Signature Guitar). So if you are playing a Fender Stratocaster, you select SC (single coil) to transform the guitar
Features
If you wish, you can get a footswitch in addition to the pedal.
The Wow Factor
It looks great, perfect together with a Red Special Guitar!
