DigiTech Vocalist Workstation EX Harmony Processor Customer Review

I bought this unit and was very excited after I initially got it. It was rather simple to use, contrary to anothers review I found the manual fine. It explained the various harmony types and how they work and which would be best to use for various set-up circumstances. The unit certainly seems flexible for live and studio use. However after just a day and a half of seriously limited use, the unit stopped functioning. The display just defaulted to something like "Unit initializing" and that was it. I unplugged it, turned it off and on a few times, even tried holding various keys while turning on in case one acted as a reset, but nothing worked. I went to the Digitech site and though I found the 'support' area for the unit, it wasn't very helpful. No real information, no real troubleshooting section. The forums don't appear to be monitored, and because I just bought it I didn't want to leave a post and maybe not hear back for a week. And I don't do the call and stay on hold thing. So after less then 3 days with the unit I'm sending it back for a refund. Seems like these either work or they don't, as a few other reviews seemed to have DOA or ones that stopped working right away. The rest seem to be happy. I suppose with any electronics it's a crap shoot. This time I'm gonna be rolling my dice on a TC Helicon harmonizer - hopefully I'll have better luck.

If you can find one of these used get it and ( heres the important part ) LEARN to use it. Ive been using thee since the first unites came out and I have 3 of these. One in my studio and one I use on the road in my one man show and the other as a spare. They do what theyre supposed to do but again you need to learn and experiment with them to get what you need out of them. They're made of plastic so you have to be careful with them and not bounce them around.
