OK, firstly I should say that I've used this pedal for a few recording sessions into a Jam man XT looper also by Digitech. The Element unit isn't metal-cased but it's strong plastic and ideal for bedroom/studio use. Sonically it seems very usuable, I haven't found anything I don't like about this pedal yet - albeit I've not explored all the editing options etc - I've just used some of the useful 'two-level' presets... You can use presets based on ALL the fx blocks (there's 7 or 8 seperate fx processors if I remember correctly) OR you can use the 'tone' bank of processors only - ditto the 'fx' bank too.. The incorporated 'drum machine' is extremely basic of course - being imo just a thoughtful extra for poor musos like me. I've been saving the best for last - the EXPRESSION PEDAL - wow - this thing works GREAT! The wahs included sound better than a dedicated wah pedal that would cost more than the whole Digitech Element - better range and nicer wah effect - granted the Element is 'plaggy' (plastic) but - oh well.. I didn't need the thing for gigging but studio work. Love this pedal.

"Digitech Element XP"

This is really a great little unit. Very simple to use, and a lot of "useable" presets. I just got rid of my Fender Mustang Floor, way to deep to enjoy. Who wants to spend their life trying to learn a device so they can do something as simple as just enjoying the guitar and the limited sounds that you may need. The digitech incorporates this philosophy very well. The weak points are the size of the display, the plastic case, should be metal and an on off switch on the unit. The Fender had all of those but lost on everything else. The price of the digitech is very affordable, I will buy another one but not the XP, just the element without the foot pedal. If its all plastic and a small display it does not belong on the floor. Works great on my sheet music stand with Velcro.

I like it it sounds good. Effects are workable and sounds good thru this cheap lil 15 watt office amp . Havent figured out how to manualy adjust delay time to specific rythyms but the factory delays are pretty decent and work.
