"Great Banjo"
I don't like this banjo being classified as a beginners banjo. I researched this product extensively before I purchased it. It projects wonderfully, which was one of my concerns as it did not feature a resonator. The set up was top notch and I see myself using this for years to come. (Here's the disclaimer, I have been a musician for 20 years, but I am new to the banjo). With that said, I play guitar and drums. Banjo seemed like the perfect bridge between the two. Get a great product made in the US of A!!!

"Nice Banjo"

The Goodtime Banjo is a very nice playing and sounding banjo. I did change the bridge right away and it makes a big difference easy and for around 40.00 extra it is worth it.. I also put a nice wood armrest on it. I ordered the Deering Goodtime armrest and it is tiny and not worth what there asking. I would not get the deering armrest Nechville makes a nice wood armrest that fits nicely on it and looks great as well as there bridge. As far as the quality of the banjo it is built very nice and I could not find anything wrong with it. I was disappointed with the banjo drum head cause the metal ring (just on the drum head) had overspray white on it but it does wipe off easy. Over all very nice banjo plays great sounds great and I play 3 finger style. And if you upgrade a few things when you can afford to it really sings.

I was very pleased with my banjo purchase, Zzounds is easy to work with and my package arrived quickly. The Banjo is quite superior to anything else in it's price range, easy to play, and a decent sound.
