I had been using the discontinued Pioneer XDJ-Aero until it recently blew up just before a gig (I carry a Denon MC4000 as a backup) it was the only other stand alone controller I knew of until I started searching for a replacement and found nothing even close until I came across the MCX8000... Holy Flirking Schnit! This controller is everything the XDJ aero wished it was with a flipping cherry on top! the controls are smooth and beautiful, stand alone usb up to 2 TB with gorgeous built in color displays.. the built in mixer sounds so good it would make Beethoven cry... add easy interface with virtual DJ and two bomb microphone inputs and all the other fancy jazz on it that i'll never use.. and all I can say is I am a fan! you can't beat the wow factor of this beast. **I don't know anything about manufacturer support hence the 3 rating.

This controller is a beast, the sound is banging and it will compete with any controller out there. So many things you can do to Rock any party with this player. Very solid feel, and its metallic, no plastic here. Did about five parties with it and the crowd was happy and everybody love it..

"Awesome Serato Controller / Flawed Stand-a-lone mode"

Bought the MCX8000 because of it being advertised as having the capability of operating stand-alone. Other than the mirrored decks this is one of the best Serato controllers that I've used to date. Love the lcd displays and solid build of the deck. Denon's Engine software is poorly design and makes the MCX8000 all but useless in stand-alone mode (Read the Denon's forums to view the frustrations from MCX8000 owners). Since January 2017 Denon also has been promising fixes to the Engine software but hasn't delivered to date (10 months and counting). I'm hopeful that Denon will keep it's word on the fixes, but as for, now, I will not recommend any gigging DJ to use this controller without Serato.

"Club DJ Review "

Overall as far as features its one of the best controllers out there. Reliability I would not recommend it for club use. I've owned a Pioneer SX2 so I have some comparable experience to share. In Serato DJ many devices which is not advertised have this thing called hot swap where it the USB is bothered or unplugged for any reason Serato will automatic connect when plugged back. Most Pioneer gear can do this, Denon has to add this feature. Serato requires a full restart with the MCX if ever unplugged. The Fader is not the best quality it began to bleeding early so if you are a DJ that uses scratch techniques with your song transitions or mixes like myself you will be replacing this fader sooner than later. Time to time you will hear a humming sound its not your cables or the speakers simply reboot your laptop or power on & off your MCX, its an issue I've noticed recently. I'm hoping the latest firmware update fixes this issue. The up faders can not be used to scratch with AT ALL, unlike the DDJ-SX or SZ that can. Volume only. Some EDM DJs that only mix this is the controller for you with all the features. If you are any type of a scratch DJ change all the faders or go with Pioneer....
