I will have to say, the Denon DS1 Serato DVS interface is a definite competitor of the Rane SL2. Seamlessly plays tracks with high quality audio. I currently run this with 2x Gemini CDJ-700's and a Behringer DDM-4000 with Novation Dicers and I will have to say this setup has increased the versatility and fun of mixing my live sets by a ton! I am super happy with the fact you could just plug and play. The small size makes it incredibly easy to transport and it is built with a very solid metal construction. The only problem is swapping laptops causes the unit to power down which if you don't adjust your PA's master volume before hand can cause a loud distracting pop when shutting down your set. This can be avoided with just a little bit of situational awareness. all in all 5/5

Denon DS1 does exactly what it's supposed to do. DS1 allows you to connect ot serato which was only previously available thru Rane box or if your mixer or controller was Serato enabled. This is comparable to the Rane SL2. You can do everything except record your mix. Build quality is exceptional, smaller than the SL2 which I liked personally. Overall a good product that has worked fine for me for 6 months so. I take it to all my gigs and it has held up well. Kudos to Denon for making an excellent product. If the next version has extra connections with the ability to record that would only enhance the product. It's way cheaper than a Rane box so the bang for the buck is great!!
