The kits looks amazing. I can't wait to get it on stage and have the lights reflecting off the chrome, its insanely good looking. It doesn't carry the tone of a maple kit with a lacquer finish, the wrap is pretty thick but still gets great tone and is very musical, I am a rock drummer and a sounds engineer. I love the DDRUM products, this is becoming my favorite 'live' kit. Studio I would suggest an all maple kit, good wood for recording, the Dios maple is nice. Or take out a car loan for a Noble/Cooley.

The scratch resistant wrap, its not really scratch resistant, however, with a towel and no cleaning supplies its easy to make it shine without scratching. Just dont hit metal on it.

I have used DDRUM before and the inside wood isnt the best Ive seen from them but still nice. Some rough spots, and the wrap is really thick so the seem is kinda noticeable, but from the stage to the crowd, you cant tell. Hoever, the tom mounts are the best I've ever used since Pearls opti-mount. Very sturdy and NOT touching the lugs of the drum, no more tuning out just from movement.

In comparison the other kits in the price range, it has great hardware, looks, and the sound is pretty nice. For a 5 piece it is a fair kit, the now not made DDRUM special Edition all maple kit was the best value, better then any kit in this price range, or anything above it. Its an average sound for the average price, looks and hardware make it better though.

The chrome is sweet, its a mirror. The hardware is genius and the flip off caps could be cool, but I have no reason (or any idea where to get new ones) to replace them. If you mic a drum kit and the sound guy isnt an idiot most drums that are tuned right sound nice, this is for looks to me, but the sound is really nice too/
