"Smooth, transparent overdrive."
Very good pedal. Very good price. Very good value. If they're prices stay low like this I'll daisy chain dano pedals all the way across the stage.
Sound
Very transparent pedal. I work in a guitar shop and compared it to everything I could get my hands on. Only two pedals gave me drive without changing my tone. This one and the $190 Maxon OD808. Guess which one I took home. Maxon sounded better, but not for that price.
Features
Everything you need, nothing you don't.
Quality
Plastic upper case, but appears solid. The rest is as solid as it gets.
Value
It doesn't get better.
Manufacturer Support
Don't really know??? No problems yet.

"Pretty good for money"

Overall its "pretty good". Did i mention the sound of the thing?
Sound
The sound of this thing is amazing. It totally blew me away- a sound comparable to a $200.00 effects pedal wrapped up in a $20.00 effects pedal. The sustain was incredible.
Features
One of the bad things about this pedal is non-versatility. Distortion on, distortion off. There are two switches on the thing but it is still basically heavy distortion or nothing.
Ease of Use
Pretty simple: my mom could use this thing.
Quality
Here's where the $20.00 pedal differs from the $200.00 one: quality. It needs to be treated pretty carefully to get a long life. (no jumping up and down on the flimsy plastic pedal) When used normally, it should last a long time. (but come on- show me a guitar player thats normal!!!)
Value
value is "Amazing" for the sound, "Average" for the physical quality.
Manufacturer Support
Never contacted the Danelectro company. I'll just assume the best. :-)
The Wow Factor
Personally, I like the retro look. I'm cool w/ that. I don't play blues or oldies or any of that crap- i play punk rock mostly but i still like the retro.

"Perfect"

This'll be on my floor for awhile. No plans right now to replace it.
Sound
Good sound, does what it is supposed to do.
Features
Controls for both level and overdrive
Quality
Top is plastic, but its tough plastic. Bottom is metal.
Value
Super inexpensive, but not cheap! Compares to much more expensive overdrive boxes.
Manufacturer Support
Giving it 5 because I have had no reason to contact the company, so I can't give it a good or bad rating.
The Wow Factor
60s styling, looks good :) Better than just a box with switches

"Gritty overdrive in a cool, cheap package!"
Worth a place in your collection - or as your main OD pedal!
Sound
Gritty and dirty overdrive for my Fender Blues Junior tube amp. For reference, I also own & use the following overdrive/distortion pedals: MXR Classic Overdrive, VOX Satchurator, BOSS OS-2 Overdrive/Distortion. This little $20 Dano (I picked it up for $15 through CL) doesn't have all the features of those, but it still gets raunchy and cranks up the tubes for rock and blues.
Features
Thick plastic top feels as solid as metal. Mine came with a translucent plastic protector to protect the knobs from being stomped on - not sure if I'll keep that on - it's easy to take off/put on.
Ease of Use
Two small knobs - level (volume) and overdrive. Very simple.
Quality
Seems well-made. Have not used it very long.
Value
$20 new - I got mine for $15 like-new via Craigslist. Absolutely worth it!

Danelectro DJ1 Pastrami Customer Review
Sound
this thing is horribibble. i'm sorry to all of the likers of this pedal. i haven't even been playing for long and i still think it sucks. it doesn't do much besides give you dos cannels on an uno channeled amp. i wouldn't reccomend it to any one with a dos channeled amp.
Features
theres nutin to it
Quality
it is stinky like cheese!

Danelectro DJ1 Pastrami Customer Review
Sound
It gives a good fuzzy distortion, like hendrix or page. gets kinda too chunky and noisy when the overdrive goes up too high. it's a great thing for 20 bucks though.
Quality
its pretty quality

Danelectro DJ1 Pastrami Customer Review
Sound
With my combo amp (marshall) on the clean channel, and all the knobs at 6 besides middle and bass, which are at 3, the overdrive gives you a great sound, thick enogh for a good rythym, and enough sustain for lead.
Quality
the underside of the pedal is hard tighten correctly with just your fingers, put if you use your keys or something, it fits just fine. there were no blemishes, but the freakin battery died the day i bought the pedal. its a completely solid pedal for its size.
Value
this was the cheapest effect ive ever seen, and as far as im concerned, its one of the best sounding.

Danelectro DJ1 Pastrami Customer Review
Sound
Its cheap, but its sturdy. Heavy steel base makes it stay put. I've had it for months and I'm still on my first battery. It makes my 10 watt marshall with a fender squier strat sound great!
