I do a program of old 1930s pop songs, classic country, jug band and blues music. I wanted a guitar that looked appropriate to the music; I wasn't too worried about the unplugged sound. This guitar seemed perfect. I love the aged look and the art deco touches. I was not prepared for it to sound so nice. Unplugged, it has nice tone and resonance; plugged in, it retains a nice acoustic sound. This is the perfect guitar for this project at an unbelievably low price. If the $250 guitar sounds this good I can't imagine the quality of the upper end models. The neck needs some adjusting; for some reason it did not come with the her key, but that will be an easy fix.
Sound
This guitar has great tone and resonance. The built-in electronics provide a nice, acoustic sound.
Features
The finish is well suited to the music that I will play on it. The scroll on the headstock and the tuning keys have an art-deco look that also suits the music.
Ease of Use
With high, low, and mid-range tone controls I found it quite easy to dial in the sound that I want. I can get the volume I need without sacrificing the tone.
Quality
I know this instrument is not solid wood, but it feels very sturdy. The neck is smooth and very playable. Once I get the truss rod adjusted I think that this will be an excellent guitar.
Value
I have owned a number of low-budget guitars over the last 50+ years; this is one of the best.
