I loved the pickups but quickly replaced them with my favorites. It plays like a dream. Extremely well built. Perfect frets, neck is unbelievable. Whole thing is perfect out of the box. It’s completely my opinion that made me change the pickups, I think most will love this guitar as is. Overall it is an amazing price, beautiful craftsmanship, just a great new instrument. It’s soo comfortable and plays like a dream! Well done charvel

Well i do love Charvel have owned a few. I ordered this because the guitar looked beautiful, has Dimarzio pick ups and a 12-16 radius fretboard. The first one came in and it looked great, but the action was horrible, no biggy i set my own gutiars up.Plugged it in and the bridge pick up wasnt working. returned it, recieved my replacement very quick. Unboxed it and it had glue or something on the top nut, the back of the guitar had stain missing in the top left neck, very noticeable. Called Zsounds up they were very understanding. I told them just to give me the blemished discount, because i wanted to keep it. They were in the process of doing this, so i put fresh strings on it. tuned it and began to check the frets and intonation, horrible job on the fretwork, several high frets, who ever did the fret level, did not go a good job,so now i have to return this one. A shame because the neck was nice, the pick ups sounded great, and it is a beautiful guitar. Needless to say i will not be getting burned a third time.Zsounds has been great about the customer service i will say that.

"Worst quality control I’ve ever seen."

I want to preface this with the fact that zZounds has been stellar in the customer service department with this issue. Not a single complaint from me about their service. Now the guitar. The first one I got had horrible fret sprout that literally cut my middle finger when I was running my hand down the neck. Every single fret on both sides of the neck were extremely sharpe and sticking out horribly. It’s almost as if the person installing them, cut the fret ends and just left them like that with no finish work whatsoever. I’m pretty easy going about guitars and having to do a little tweaking but this was insane. Next, the neck. Now, I’ve seen a lot of necks in my time playing and have never ran into this anomaly. The neck was back bowed on the bass side and had a forward bow on the treble. The neck was twisted like crazy . The finish had what appeared to be sandpaper grit embedded in the wood. So it had a rough sand like feel to the entire body . I sent that one back and zZounds sent out another. This one arrived with a volume knob that wasn’t tightened down. This allowed the knob to fall off during shipping and got thrown around causing metal knurling imprints on a few spots on the body along with imprints on the plastic pick guard. Of course the fret ends are exactly the same sharpe protruding knives that the last one had. If this is any indicator of the quality control at the Charvel Indonesia plant, it’s no wonder Joe Duplantier left Charvel for ESP. I bought a LTD TE 200 DX from zZounds a couple months back that had immaculate fret work, perfectly cut nut and an outstanding finish… and it’s a $399 guitar!! Come on Charvel, you can do better. The only place this guitar scored high for me was the actual features. Ebony fretboard , TOM bridge, Dimarzio pickups , locking tuners etc.
