"Excellent first tube amp"

Got this thing a few months ago and am really impressed. I really like the natural distortion/high-gain this thing creates. It has a very usable range of tones. Granted I'm no elitist tone snob. I really don't have to waste much time knob twisting because it just sounds good. I've ran my trusty versatile Jackson and a Danelectro through it... Yep, all good. Plug in yer f'n guitar and play. Its pretty sweet being able to practice at home on an all tube amp at a reasonable volume; but It can get pretty loud if you want it to. The build quality is very nice and it has looks to boot. Used it a week ago to record a punk/metal band. We ran the guitar straight in, then the amp straight to the recorder via the preamp out. It records very well, It sounds clear and even, sits well in the mix, not noisy. What more do you really need? I'm happy as can be. Also, the foot-switch has the big wide rectangular buttons, not the sub-par generic tiny buttons. That's an extra bonus. Haven't had to deal with manufacturer support. So there's no way to give that a fair star rating. In fact, that should not be a required field. Bugera's website seems like they aim to please so 5's across the board.

"Awesome Little Amp"

This is my 4th Bugera. I still have every one of them and have never had any problem from either. In all of the others I swapped power tubes and preamp tubes, but this G20 I swapped EH preamp and that's it. I want to note my reasoning for the the tube swaps are personal preference only. This little amp is very versatile. I am able to practice in the bedroom,or with a band. I've even played several show's with it. I really enjoy it and zZounds are top shelf in my book. For a versatile good sounding amp this is my favorite in my 34 years of playing.

I started playing 34 years ago I play guitar.

"Great Amp At A Great Price"

First let me start by saying that I was not sure if I was going to like this amp & researched all the reviews I could find before pulling the trigger. That process took 6 months. Out of the box I was impressed but, it seemed to be just a little lacking. The preamp ecc83 tubes are Bugera branded Shuguangs. They are probably the most rebranded tube on the market. I have seen them wearing Marshall, Mesa, Ruby as well as Bugera badges. They are a solid utility tube made in China & while they work fine they are not stellar in their performance. I tried several brands & models of preamp tubes & ended up with a pair of JJ ECC83 tubes currently. The amp sounds phenomenal. You can crank the clean channel volume & the master & hit that nice sweet spot & get good breakup. The Morph knob does make noticeable difference in tone. I tend to keep it on the USA side because it tends to sparkle nicely. The gain channel has lots of crunch on tap & for a mere 20 watts, with good efficient speakers, this little amp is LOUD! I use an open back 2x12 cab with Celestion Vintage 30s & WOW is all I can say. It will hold its own on a stage, in a studio or in the practice space. I did try some different power tubes but saw no noticeable difference in tone so I left the Bugera branded Shuguang EL34B tubes. I would definitely buy another should this amp be stolen or lost.

Semi professional. Bass, Guitar, Keyboards & Synths, Drums & percussion. Stage & studio.

Very diverse & eclectic but I love Rock & Blues

"Reasonably impressed"

So let me start of and say this is a $300 amplifier and finding 20 watts of tube for that price can be a challenge. Bugera definitely pulled through with this. Aesthetically this thing is pretty. Tolex is firm, handles are nice, everything is SOLID. I use the Morph EQ more than I'd ever had anticipated and it definitely opens up your tonal options. This amp sounds impressively similar to some of its more expensive counterparts without hurting your pocket. Is it all the bang of a $1500 Orange head? Maybe not, however, for 1/5th of the price you get 4/5ths of the tone (in my opinion) and I would DEFINATELY buy another Bugera product in an instant. Actually want to pick up their 1960 amp soon!

I've owned this amp for a while (1 year I believe?)So, what I've found is that the clean channel even though it has limited controls sounds very good, articulate I'd say.Takes pedals well.I have the tone set at about 1:30-2:00.Now, the drive channel is alot different. It's not really good and not really bad.The way I've found to get a really good sound out of it is to set the gain at about 8:00 and morph towards the UK side about 2:00.Treble at 1:00-2:00Middle all the way up.Bass probably at 7:00 (almost all the way down).Channel volume at 12:00 and master wherever..All the way up preferred. Then hit it with a tube screamer etc.I use a fulltone fulldrive. All in all it's a decent head for the price.

"Fun amp, good quality"

I'd like to say I love this amp but I can't. I'd say I strongly like it. It's a fun amp to play, I can dime this thing on the clean channel (read: power tube overdrive) and get some nice crunch and not blow out the windows. Not sure why, I've had 20 watt amps before that I could not do that with (Jet City) You'll have to play around with the overdrive channel to find your sweet spot. If you want clarity and not mush, you probably won't go much past 11 o'clock on the dial. I need to do some tube swapping, the manual says you can swap 6L6 for the EL34's. I like the 34 so I probably won't do that, but you might want to try that. I've got hand wired amps that are superior for obvious reasons, but for a nice little dirty amp you can crank, this is fun to play.

"Shipped Defective, No Replacement"

I received the amp head and the silica packet had burst in the innermost bag, leaving beads everywhere in the amp. It wouldn't power up. I would have accepted a replacement but I'd purchased the last one. I was satisfied that they allowed me to exchange for a different amp at the same price. Shipping and customer service were great, given the circumstances.
