Sound
rich bass. nice smooth treble and mid. not too harsh. very impressive, full, rich sound. i played a show soon after buying it and the sound tech told me the guitar had a genuine james taylor sound too it. i practically fell over.
Features
can't beat it... pickup with 4 band EQ that you hardly even need... it sounds so good plugged in.
Quality
despite this being a factory made as opposed to breedloves other handmades, i really can not see, feel or hear anything that would suggest it is sub-par breedlove quality. I played a handmade right before picking this up and had to look at the price tag twice to make sure i read it right. if you want bang for the buck, this is your guitar.
Value
value is the whole point of this guitar. it is a breedlove, it has no right to be sub $1000.... but it is.
Manufacturer Support
emailed them once to see about the case, told me they would email me when they released a case. we'll see if that happens....
The Wow Factor
soooo beautiful. the inlays, the wood, the tuners, the headstock, my gosh.

"Watch out, Taylor..."
Will play my AC25SR-plus until it wears out, or until my musical endeavors justify stepping up to an Oregon-made non-factory Breedlove series instrument. Except for one of those high-end domestic Breedloves, some custom-luthiered instruments and a couple Taylors the $4,000 - $8,000 price range, this is the sweetest-sounding acoustic guitar I've ever had the joy of playing... and I got it for well under $1,000.
Sound
A challenge to sustain the warmth & richness of tone when bending the higher strings in the upper register (14+ fret range)... but having to work a little harder for good lead tone is what it's all about on an acoustic, right? Overall, sounds like a Taylor at half the cost.
Features
Everything is great-- But really need a signature Breedlove case. And a second strap peg.
Quality
I've been playing it 10-20 hours a week for the last 9 mos., and have only needed change the strings. I can only assume it will hold up...
Value
Aesthetically, the unique contours, shape and inlays are strictly bonus points, given that I bought the guitar for its playability & sound quality. I would challenge ANYBODY to find a product that delivers EITHER the sonic OR visual appeal for under $1,000.

The Wow Factor
Unique headstock, aforementioned inlays, and sound quality... I've had so many people ask about it at shows, or ask how I got the great sound in the studio. Most folks have no idea what kind of guitar is because the local music store sells out of them within 2 weeks of receiving a new batch.

acoustic everything (alt, neo-country, blues, classix... mixed & varied genres)

"Why own a Breedlove?"
Verified Customer
zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
For the price, this is the best value on a wonderful instrument that makes up for any lack of playability. For the Pro or Novice.
Sound
Similar to the famous Breedlove sound at a fraction of the price.
Features
Pickup seems to work well and the woods are a good choice. Slightly smaller neck than the originals.
Quality
Good quality for this instrument price range. Had to have professional set up and now the Breedlove has huge potential!
Value
Not a better value on a budget priced high end instrument, in my opinion.
Manufacturer Support
Owned real Breedlove instruments in the past and the company is very helpful and love their products.
The Wow Factor
Beautiful inlay work and good color of top and woods on back. Top and Back are solid and sides laminate. If you get a chance to own a Breedlove at any price, then buy one!
Musical Background:
Play as hobby for many years
Musical Style:
Most styles and lean toward ballads, with a Christian folk sound and some Jazz/Blues mixed in

"More bang for your buck."
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
I expect this to last me about 2-4 years before I move onto a high end martin or taylor.
Sound
Beat off the low end Takaminie, and the entry level Taylor 110e. Beautiful sound
Features
The fishman classic 4 has a great vibrant tone. Would be nice if It had some of the electronics that the takamine had, ex a tuner.
Quality
Made extremly well. amazing craftsmanship.
Value
Great price for a great guitar.
The Wow Factor
I want to bang the hell out of it. It goes well with the personal pa I picked up with it.
Musical Background:

Musical Style:

"No Hype Here... Just a Great Guitar"
Verified Customer

If you don't like this guitar, you're either a bull-headed Taylor or Martin fanatic or a drummer in a Metal band.
Sound
Incredibly sweet, harmonic and musical. Even a crappy player can't make an AC25SR Plus sound bad! I have to wonder about the motives of the guy who said the Breedlove sounds "dead" and lacking on the high end in comparison to his Taylor guitars. I have four Taylors and the Breedlove AC25SR Plus sounds better than 3 of them... MUCH better. Makes me wonder if he's ever really owned this guitar.
Features
The only thing I'd have changed about this guitar is to have L.R. Baggs electronics instead of the Fishman Classic IV. But that's just my personal preference. Everything else about this guitar is top-notch in every way. Wow!
Quality
Built like a tank. I see no quality issues whatsoever.
Value
I've played a lot of guitars in my 30+ years as a musician. I can't think of a single 'new' acoustic that is a better value than the AC25SR Plus. Not even a Taylor, of which I own four.
Manufacturer Support
Before I bought mine, I called Breedlove in Oregon with a few questions. The woman I talked to was not only knowledgeable and helpful, she was also a player! Nice. :)
The Wow Factor
I wanted it so bad that I bought it... 'nuf said.

I have become a hugeevangelist of this guitar.
Sound
I own a Taylor 310ce and I owned a Taylor 814ce for 5 years. Sold it and missed it so I looked into this guitar. This is 99% playability and sound of the 814minus $1800. Unbelieveable. Maybe I just got a good one, but you would think this was a handcrafted acoustic.
Features
pickup system is not onpar with taylor's expression system but you already knew that. Unless you play like Michael Hedges or Leo Kottke, this will faithfully serve you for 95% of any live situation. Mic it for recording.
Ease of Use
Amazing playability. You can tell Kim Breedlove watched and learned from his time at Taylor. Martin and Gibson could learn SO MUCH from Taylor.
Quality
First rate. period. James Olson gets a 10, but this guitar really gets a 9 in my book.
Value
Try to beat it. I Dare you.

Breedlove AC/25SR Plus Customer Review
Sound
I dont know who said the thing about the "Taylor Expression system" being better than this guitar, but every expression system guitar i have heard plugged in sucks. The fishman is the way to go. This guitar is great.

Breedlove AC/25SR Plus Customer Review
If you are looking for a sexy, small to mid size guitar in the middle price range, this isn't bad. If you want top quality sound there are better choices. Don't expect the sound of a $1200+ guitar out of this $800 package. Martin has some nice guitars using composit bodies that compares well. I also had a Wasburn EA18 that was similar. My recommendation is if you have a local retailer where you can put your hands on one first, do it. If it sings to you, go for it. It's all subjective anyway.
Sound
I was looking for a small to medium sized guitar that allready had electronics in it. My hope was to find someting to replace my Taylor 110 without spending the money for a Taylor grand concert CE. After reading all the positive reviews I took a risk buying the AC25SR. Unfortunately when I got the Breedlove home and compared the two side by side I was very dissapointed. The Breedlove has nice low to mid's, but the highs on this guitar are dull and lifeless. Even my wife who is not knowlegable about guitars, asked why it sounded so dead compared to my Taylors! I'm not comparing this to my Taylor 510CE, or my Taylor 355, but to a bottom end Taylor that sells for more that $200 less than the Breedlove. I would be better serves just using my Fishman Rare Earth pickup in my 110 than keeping this guitar. So my request to the other reviewers that think this compares to a Taylor, is to reserve your statement until you compare them side by side. There is no comparison. I may try some different strings before I give up on the Breedlove, but I doubt I'll be keeping this guitar.
Features
I have to ask...why isn't there a hard shell case available!
Quality
All right I'll give the overall quality some decent remarks. For a import guitar this is well finished. I would gladly show it off for the appearance. Then I would pick up another guitar to play.
