This pedal eliminates the need to have multiple guitars for lower tunings. If you're into playing stoner rock/doom which often uses C# standard tuning or lower, it only takes a turn of the knob to adjust your tuning a half step higher or lower...and the tracking sounds great!

This is the absolute best poly shifter effect pedal I've ever used. I've owned several, Digitech Drop, EHX Pitch Fork, Line 6 Poly Capo in the HELIX, Headrush Prime Drop Tune and more in plug-ins. All did the job and in a live mix, no artifacts were heard. However, this Boss XS-1 Poly Shifter has the most natural and responsive sound I have every heard from a pitch shifter effects. I used it live during a bar gig in Fort Lauderdale and it worked flawlessly. I used it to drop -1 down to Eb for a couple of songs and then quickly switched to a blended root +5th for Owner of a Lonely Heart cover. This pedal is vey versatile. Get it! You'll be happy with it.
